lighting an opaque fruiting chamber

I'm going to be setting up my fruiting chamber, but I need it to be somewhat stealthy. I've done a transparent SGFC, which I didn't setup any lighting system for. I just used the lights in the room. I'm going to do the same kind of SGFC but with an an opaque container. I will need to run a light into it. How can I best do this without heating up the container too much?

Why opaque? It's a SHOTGUN fruiting chamber. Looks like you shot it with a shotgun. Already looks suspicious.

I've seen people use LED lights on the inside of the lid but I've never tried it. Search it and see if it worked for anyone.

5050smd led lights strips.
-------------------- Alright then, picture this if you will: 10 to 2 AM, X, Yogi DMT, and a box of Krispy Kremes, in my "need to know" post, just outside of Area 51. Contemplating the whole "chosen people" thing with just a flaming stealth banana split the sky like one would hope but never really expect to see in a place like this. Cutting right angle donuts on a dime and stopping right at my Birkenstocks, and me yelping... Holy fucking shit!

Not just any light will work for growth. If you use an led strip like for an aquarium it will prolly work though. Shrooms don't *need* light to grow but they do that do very well without it.

I know it already looks weird. But with a transparent container, you can see the cakes and all the shrooms growing off of them (not sneaky at all!). At least with an opaque container it's just a weird looking container with lots of holes. It's actually my mom who is most concerned, not me. I like to look at my shrooms.
LED strips sounds like a good idea. They probably give off the least amount of heat.

But an opaque tote with light shining out of a couple hundred holes is less suspicious lol?

Led will give off almost no heat. 5050smd strips are what your looking for. I use them as supplemental lighting on my weed plants(I grow in tight places). You can get a 16foot roll that is cut able to size with the wall adapter for less than twenty bucks. That's alot of light. You'll have some strips left over and for another six bucks you can get another wall adapter and make another light.

I'll keep it on during the night. I don't expect any of my parents' guests to be wandering into rooms in the middle of the night.Quote:

Something like this? http://www.amazon.com/SUPERNIGHT-Ribbon-16-4ft-Waterproof-Transformer/dp/B00BPIWY28/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1439914881&sr=8-2&keywords=5050smd
I don't know what the color temp is on these things. I'm supposed to get something around 65k according to what I've read.
There's also LED aquarium lights, but it's not as cheap as the lights in the link above. Those lights would definitely be cheaper overall.

Yup those exactly. The 5050smd basically means daylight white which is right around 6500k. They work good for underlighting on my veg plants so I'm sure it would work really well for mushrooms.
