Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

BTW, do you know where the whole red and white Santa suit we've come to know originated from? Coca-Cola. Now if that's not good marketing, I don't know what is.

I believe santa claus is something made up to keep kids acting good for the majority of the year... remember kids, if your naughty, santa will give you jack crap for xmas, but if your a good kid and do everything your parents tell you, you will get lots of xmas...

I find it mildy amusing as well as depressing that our biggest mythical figure was an invention by a soft drink corporation. What a sign of our times eh?  :rolleyes: :shake:

Accept it or not, heres my thoughts on that...

What other object can you think that is short, stout, red white and black?
What other short, stout, red white and black object stimulates your brain, altering your conciousness (without caffeine and sugar)?

Santa Claus brings presents over night right?  Little colorful objects of joy and euphoria, that pop up just overnight under an evergreen tree. 
Flying Reindeer??!?  What could it be that created all these legends?

My feeling?  Amanita Muscaria.  If you subscribe to any of the ideas that Jung brings forth, namely the Archetype theory... then maybe you understand what I mean.

I believe that Santa represents the ancient Shaman, and the amanita, his little gifts, are the 'drug of choice'.  Reindeer have been used to administer the Soma via their urine, after mastication and ingestion of the Amanita up there in Siberia.... (in the tradition of CP) a.k.a. RP hehe.


And the fact that CocaCola adapted it and created this socially stamped and approved image of Jolly St. Nick makes it even more entertaining.  This short can containing, essentially, plant substances and stimulants as a replacement for the awe-inspiring visions and knowledge of the Soma says alot of how society handles old traditions. 

would you trade your hallucinogens in for caffeine and sugar conciously?  I wouldnt :smile:

anyways, thats my thoughts, as jumbled and fractured as they may be... Makes sense to me :smile:

Coca-Cola didn't invent Santa Claus.  They just invented his look.

That I actually didnt know, pretty crazy. The idea of Santa is an interesting one. I dont even know if I approve of it or not yet, or weither I will tell my kids. I wouldn't use him to control my kids, I dont even think that works. As a kid I rarely acted good so I would get a good x-mas gift, enless it was really close. I dont think most people did either. But to believe in something mystical like that, or the tooth fairy etc is pretty cool. I'm not even sure if I like that fact that I grew up believe, so not sure if I would change it....

I figured out santa wasn't real in preschool, but I kept pretending like I was fooled for my parents sake, plus I figured if my parents didnt get that "Santa satisfaction" then my present haul wouldnt be as good.
