Everybody go ahead and justify your disgusting beliefs. If this happened to wild dog, you all would be outraged. Life is life and anyone who can't respect that hopefully gets run over by a car that was otherwise meant for roadkill. Killing something is a sacred right. Letting something suffer is wrong. Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't deserve respect for their own life. That's only fair. Humans are nothing special, especially when they do retarded shit like this(btw I fucking hate granola).

If they seem happy I wouldn't call that cruelty. If they are given appropriate conditions to live in again I don't see the cruelty of this verses a rabbit being caged up.

They are not happy and clearly want to be free. After they first got stuck, they tried again and again to jump back over and couldn't do it. This is probably what killed the one deer. It likely hurt it's leg trying to get out and hurt itself. Deer almost always die when they get an injured leg. The asshole land owner could have prevented this. If it is too much of a hassle, then he has no right being a land owner(steward) of his own land.

Update: The deer is safe! I was just thinking "fuck it I'm gonna lower the deer fence wires myself along my property line" and if the land owner says anything(which he won't because he never inspects his fence) I'd just side with the right of the deer to be free. I literally looked over my shoulder and the deer was staring into my window looking at me. One of the high lines on the fence is gone, meaning the deer must have tried to jump out again and snapped it. The line was up yesterday evening and now it's gone. The land owner didn't do this. One of my other neighbors may have gotten fed up, or the deer finally got a lucky break. I'll probably get blamed for a damaged fence. My neighbors were doing some much needed yard maintenance yesterday and must have noticed the rotting carcass bordering their fence line with another panicked deer. Well, I know for sure now that deer mourn their dead loved ones.

do you have a garden? do you pull the weeds from that garden?  have you ever used traps to control rodents?  stepped on a spider? casually swatted a mosquito?  have you ever used antibiotics or cooked your food?  if so, then FOR SHAME!  Life is life, and anyone who can't respect that(you and everyone else too) hopefully gets run over by a car that was otherwise meant for roadkill

The deer won, get over it. Your piddly excuses for argument in that last attempt just show how infantile your behavior is.

Really? Usually the other ones run when I start blasting holes in their comrades.

I've seen mother deer crap on their fawn's head. When I had cows they would do that too.

I wouldnt call the cops on neighbors.  I would go tell them directly I think what they are doing is wrong.

.... Id rather have cops coming to my door than some crazy bitch who's gaga over animals any day.

Cool bro.  I'm glad the deer got out. I don't want to see animals suffer for no reason. I just don't actively care as much as you do, and don't really understand it. I would also never try to make a legal argument against my neighbor fencing in his property.  Btw, granola is delicious for breakfast with some milk

Here's the real kicker. When I told my relatives who are avid deer/elk hunters as well as redneck to the core about this situation, they all got really upset and sited the laws regarding harassment of wildlife. They all enjoy a fair hunt, and some of them do bow hunting too. None of them are trophy hunters. Every one of them is gonna let this sheriff know what's up in their own time.

OP-I love the new thread name.  its so evocative.  I'm imagining a deer in a gimp suit, chained up to some sort of rack in a torchlit basement.  Meanwhile, dudes in flannels with no sleaves and camo baseball caps take turns burning the deer with cigarettes, and attaching clothespins to its nipples.  in the background there's several hillbillies crouched in the shadows vigorously jerkin it with one hand while stroking their gun with the other
