I pay about $200 a month total with shit insurance. About $45 each for humalog (about $80 w/o insurance) and lantus (about $130 w/o insurance), $30-40 for syringes, and I can't remember what I payed for my last batch of test strips since I have a bit of a stockpile right now, but a month's supply of those can easily be around $200-300 without insurance (there are cheaper ones for somewhere under $150 or so a month though). I had methimazole for graves disease for a while too, but that was only about $35 or so a month.

With insurance it totals somewhere just under $200. Without it it would be around $500 a month. If you factor in the insurance cost, the prices are pretty comparable. If you include medical appointments, then it's a win for me. Type 1 diabetics pretty much need health insurance in most places in the US. Sometimes I wish I were Canadian .

An hour later though, was at 250.

She says "Well the battery is low maybe it's off" and I'm here freaking out right now.

What do you think I should do? Oh, no insurance, no money, so idk. Fuck it

man i'm type 1, but i guess i'm lucky that it's just cheap here. the price got cut in half a few years ago though, but i know we have good aid for those without insurance here (me included). personally i've never bought test strips, and rarely use them, but i can almost always tell where my blood sugar is at just on feeling. i get three viles of humalog and and lantis for 50$ total with no insurance.

Funny you say that. I actually have a buddy whos dad found out he was diabetic because he would always piss outside in the same place. One day he started to notice a crap ton of sugar crystals in the area he pissed

That's cool, dude. My bad for assuming. What I suggested could only work if your BG level is affected by carbohydrate intake. I'm curious about what you've got from the standpoint of being a guy with somewhat similar bullshit to deal with. If you're comfortable PMing the name of the condition to me I'd read up on it and diligently respect your desire not to be identified (I have the same desire ). No pressure intended at all though, and good luck either way man. That shit sucks.
