you are basically implying that no digital file counts? we can only keep words on paper?

cause even one mp4 song or whatever is multiple pieces of data compressed into one chunk. the concept is exactly the same for a .zip file, or a truecrypt file

Let's not pick this apart. It's supposed to be fun.

1 file. I really mean 1 piece of media.
Using compression as a way to save more files is skirting the idea but I don't care its just taking away from your answer.

If you could save one intellectual work of media for humanity what would it be? That's the real question here.

Not to Mention the fact that you need a program to decompress the zip file, and you can't save both the program and the file.

you need a program to play any sort of music, text document, video, whatever. so thats a moot point.

BUT like you said... this thread is supposed to be fun and i dont wanna be a dick and derail it. im not gonna read into it any more than that



i would choose a calculator, personally.

A single clip encompassing all of my music, movies, tv shows and porn.

There is not a single piece of media worth saving. No matter what it is, you are going to eventually get so bored and tired of it, you won't want to ever use it again after a certain point. If I can't compile some variety into a single video, then what is the point. Just let them take it all.

And if I can't have some mix of media on the same file, then movies and tv shows are out. They use several "files of media" all on their own.
