My girlfriend is Vegan, and she can be preachy. I love her anyway and she eats my meat more than enough :smile:

for the record, theres these birds that have been following me for about a year, i think since the last time i ate shrooms, and they are all amazingly intelligent, loving, and psychic.! XD i swear i can be inside and if i feel like smoking a cigarette or if i get mad they'll make sad sounds, theyve followed me to a house that is 20 miles away.. and even farther. the birds are a group of orange-chested robins, 2-3 hummingbirds(who are willing to, and have, taken on hawks in pairs) an oriole, and some other small ones. some are very wise and their understanding and presence are quite frankly soothing and heartwarming. they truly love me and have been keeping me level headed through tough times and i feel indebted to them. punchline: my lack of mental control keeps them from trusting me. most wont come closer than 20 feet. but they follow me everywhere...  :crying:

i know an aboriginal that believes in spirit animals and totems, his was a wedge tail eagle, he would always see them at significant times in his life. when his nan died, he drove to her funeral and found a massive one in the middle of the road. these birds are not a common site iswell. there were many more instances

a few. i generally met them and they announced themselves as vegetarians within minutes and start preaching.

and of course on the internet they tend to be very preachy, but the internet is a more appropriate place to do so than a gathering of friends thats supposed to be fun

but, ive also known people for months and not even notice their eating habits till i say something like lets go to five guys and get burgers, and they say nah, i dont eat meat

so im like, oh ok. lets go somewhere with both then or get chinese or whatever

and thats it :shrug: most vegetarians that ive come across don't seem to care to talk about it

No, I do not. I never mention it, but whenever people offer me meat they ask why. That usually brings out the preachy omnivores that feel the need to tell me I should be eating meat, like they know what's best for me.

Im a vegetarian and have gotten preached to, joked on, and interrogated about my diet. I usually never tell people until later, if we become acquaintances. I'm also in a lot of other minority categories but I never try to change anyone's mind about anything.

If you are still preachy by the time you are 30,
you are probably a preacher at heart.
I don't know anyone 30+ that preaches about dumb shit
to me, preachyness is a 23-28 thing
due to the fact that is when you start getting really into things
at a deeper level
and who doesn't want to tell the world with enthusiasm?

My cousin's husband who I only see on Thanksgiving is vegan, and every single year he has something to say about how unjust it is that turkey is served at the event. Nobody really engages him on it, but he feels the need to remind everyone of his views I guess.
