WHOA WHOA WHOA grind???

No sir, you NEVER grind up gourds - that oxidizes all the psychedelic chemicals contained in the rind. You're supposed to chew and swallow small pieces (1/2 inch cubes)- about 5 ounces worth.

OR you can do a simple acid/base extraction by boiling the (dried or undried, but undried works better) gourd in a mixture of lemon juice and water (4:1 ratio water/LJ). After about 20 minutes, take out the gourd and add a tablespoon of baking soda. Then reduce the water until all you have left is a gooey golden to brown residue. Scrape up the residue, spread it thinly on a sheet of wax paper, then dry it like you would mushrooms (a fan or whatever you normally use). I haven't used calcium chloride to dry gourdalito, so I wouldn't recommend using it.
