Addicted to an album?

Has anyone ever been compelled and obsessed to listen to a particular album over and over again? Ever since I got the new Perfect Circle album, I've been unable to listen to anything else.

I do that with every band I listen to, basically.. I play them out and then never listen to them again, heh. I still appreciate the music and would say I am their fan, but I've just listened to it so much I don't want to listen anymore, heh.

But the ones in particular that were able to hold onto me for a long time despite my overplaying them:

Finch - What It Is To Burn
Taking Back Sunday - Tell All Your Friends
Chevelle - Wonder What's Next

I'm stoked, they're playing here in AZ on the 9th of dec.

there was a long while when I was addicted to Tiger Woods PGA Tour '04, and I set it to custom soundtrack from the xbox. and all I had on there was BoC-Geogaddi, Pinback-Blue Screen Life, and Mogwai-Happy Songs for Happy People.

It was a great mix, but over and over and over and over....

i've gone through that with every bjork, radiohead, nin, pink floyd, hum, roots, srv, miles davis, and many other artist's albums. i tend to do that.

I'm seriously addicted to IN FLAMES Colony. I don't listen to it all that much, but I have had it for years now, and it used to be played all the time. It isn't like I got tired of it, either. The last time I listened to it was last weekend, I believe. It wwas four/five in the morning and I kept turning it up and turning it up. On the last song, my right speaker gave out. The next morning it worked fine, but they both tend to get a little bit staticy now and then.

It is just a trip to listen to it, it is like the entire thing, every little drum thing, every little sound... the entire thing is mapped out in my brain, especially Anders' vocals. I completely know what is going on when it plays. Granted, there is few albums that deserve such dedication to ever get this much understanding of it. I haven't found another album yet that every single second was so perfect and loved by me so much.

I don't listen to full albums as much anymore, as I have my own computer now and all of these mp3s. A Perfect Circle's new album gets listened to a lot. The METALLICA section gets played a lot, and so does the Opeth section. :grin: I just got KoRn's new album yesterday, by the way, but I'll go on about THAT in a new thread. hehe
