Another Azure Report - Good News!
    #2107889 - 11/14/03 11:59 PM (13 years, 25 days ago)

Hi all. I just got back home (Yakima) from my mushroom hunting in the Astoria area. Not only did I get about 20 pounds of Amanita Muscaria, but I picked about 9.6 ounces of Azurescens (from a place many of you know). 9.6 ounces is not that much, but the good news is that I saw literally hundreds (if not over a thousand) little healthy pins sprouting everywhere. It's definitely about to explode with mushrooms! Hopefully I'll be able to get back over there within the next few weeks to check it out again.

And with night will go;
I turn my back to the east,
From whence comforts have increas'd;
For light doth seize my brain
With frantic pain.

I was thinking about it. Are you going to be camping at a campgrounds or out in the wild? I don't have a tent so I need to bum a sleeping spot from somebody.

Here's a picture of them that I just took after cleaning off all the grass. I just wish I had remembered to take my damn camera with me to the coast so I could show you what I mean about the hundreds of pins.

Hey thanks man. I was just thinking about last year - were you one of those guys that met up with me and Dobie at Ft. Stevens? If so, who was the other guy? My memory from that period of time is shot.

Nope, I've actually never been hunting there. But given the fact that the Cyans aren't much a factor in Seattle this year, it's time to fill 'er up with gas and head west to see what Azures look like.

Thank God someone has the sense to leave the fucking pins. the patches are getting raped harder every year, and the grass looks like shit. When you see the pins, know that they will some day grow up to be big little flying saucers, and that until the cortinate little veil has broken, the spores are still undeveloped and trapped inside!!!
don't let your friends pick em either. be nice to the patches, they are dying....
better yet, make your own patch!!!
w-e-r-d.

So these thing are literally right off the beach growing in dune grass? Knowing this would have made my numerous trips to the beach in the past that much more fun.
