Running out of material
    #2105291 -

I have tackled almost all of the most popular issues already. Where do I go from here? Do I reset and start over again alphabetically?

A: Aliens
B: Bigfoot
C. Crop circles

etc.

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

I think you should discuss the emotional stress that most single mothers experience when they go shopping in this day and age.

You could discuss how Arnold Swartengger is going to run agansit Bush for President next year.... mmm... hydrogen filling stations....
Peace.

Don't forget:

D: Dogon tribe
E: Ectoplasm
F: Forcible implanting of alien probes by the Dogon tribe

Seriously, I think you and Shroomism should just have done with it, and compete head to head in a no-holds barred Shroomery Celebrity Deathmatch!!

For a small promotional fee, I will be willing to arrange to have it televised pay-per-view. You will each be guaranteed a minimum take of the proceeds. Shroomism can use his cut to pay off the money he owes you on the 12th planet bet plus fund psychic research, you can use yours to up the ante on your Swami Challenges and buy some nice nugz..everyone wins!

Already tackled homeopathic medicine?

Same-sex medicine? Oh, nevermind.

Homeopathy is placebo medicine, nothing else. This is fairly easy to see (even for a believer) why.

Take two aspirins (or the herb from which aspirin was derived - white willow bark) for a headache. You get some relief. Take one aspirin, you get less relief. Keep taking smaller doses until you get zero relief. Then suddenly and magically you get tremendous relief from a dose containing a few atoms of aspirin.

This type of non-linear response has no precedents in medicine and cannot be demonstrated.

How come it has been shown to work in animals?

--------------------
To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.'  Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence.  Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains.  Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

When you say you have tackled all these issues what do you actually mean by tackled? Are you suggesting you have debunked all of these things or merely pointed out that the existence / non-existence of all these entities remains unproven?

Pseudoscience,

long rants about the nature of conciousness and the universe obviously written by someone who's really, really stoned that don't make a whole lot of sense.

Testing homeopathy should be fairly easy. You can ask a homeopathic doctor (a lot of doctors initially trained the conventional way have been involved also in homeopathy) to give you a specific remedy that supposedly has the potential to cure some symptoms. According to the theory of homeopathy if you do not actually have these symptoms, the remedy will induce them. Make sure that the remedy produces physical symptoms and that you are unaware which these are, in order to rule out the possibility of placebo.

The process is called "proving" in homeopathy. Homeopathic doctors insist that this has been clearly demonstrated (also in animals), but of course it is easy for anyone to test for themselves. If it actually works empirically, then any fairly open-minded person would entertain the possibility that there might be mechanisms that we are still unaware of, even if the homeopathic explanation does not seem to be a sound one.

From: The Straight Dope

"Mainstream science holds that, generally speaking, the potency of a drug increases with the dose. Homeopathy - in particular, the Law of Infinitesimals - says the medicine?s effectiveness decreases with the dose. The less you use, the better it works! Which would lead one to conclude that it works best if you don?t use any at all."

If you got the clap (gonorrhea) how many here would opt for the standard treatment of penicillin or a homeopathic remedy? Show of hands, please.

Says nothing at all about whether homeopathy works or not.
