Lol this dude came into my work talk about he went to see "some space movie" with his son and how awful it was, how the plot line was just totally incomprehensible. I almost couldn't stop myself from laughing, dude must be pretty dumb. He was a cop too

1. There are a lot of people on the planet.

2. I want to keep living the lifestyle I'm accustomed to.

3. There are not enough resources for everyone.

4. Therefore... There are too many people on the planet.

5. We need to depopulate.

I'm not buying it. We are not god (oh yea premise .75 There is no god...). We don't get to decide when enough is too much. If the earth wants to shrug us off, that's up to her. If we want to solve this problem,IMHO the answer is not to transcend or evolve out of our humanity but rather to dig down and re-attach or re plug in to our humanity. Raping the earth and relying on our ability to reason our way off the planet is just a psychotic dream and an attempt to not take responsibility.

The part you don't understand is that most people don't want the responsibility of standing behind their own decisions.  Look at religions like Christianity putting faith in some dichotomy of the divine because their either too stupid or don't want the responsibility of making the wrong decisions.  Creating the illusion of some "devil" that "made me do it" instead of seeing the evil that resides at the square root of all humans.

Also (whether or not people like the idea) eventually if you think about it long enough certain concessions are eventually going to HAVE to be made about mankind on how we spend our resources.  And perhaps the way to do that should have nothing to do with what some bearded asshats wrote down on some animal skins thousands of years ago.

Well not really if you don't like the idea of an illuminati.  In fact as far as I know the Bavarian Illuminati were completely dedicated to eradicating all religions and all monarchies.  Really it's by the efforts of certain sects of secret societies that humanity has been pushed forward kicking and screaming.  It's just that too many people are scared of the idea of people doing anything in secrecy.  When the cold HARD truth is that sometimes in order to further mankind dirty shit HAS to be done. :shrug:

I doubt you "understand" but you really should.  Go read some books instead of buying into what Alex Jones touts on his radio show. :lol:  J/P but if I see one more person spout some bullshit they've seen on a youtube doc about the Illuminati I'm gonna fucking scream.

Just because modern science doesn't have all the answers doesn't mean a God must fill in the blanks. Why assume a God is responsible for the universe? I think skepticism should be the default position until evidence is provided for the existence of God.

Skepticism is good, and I agree that's a wise choice until you have enough evidence to make your choice on, whatever that choice may be. I've made mine, and it was of my own volition. I am just attempting to relay my point of view :cool:
