i had an x that studied the vast majority of 10 years to be a jesuit priest, by far the "best" person i know. he couldn't finish due to spiritual changes but the foundation was immaculate.

i mean i personally find the whole thing to be silly as does he now but there are some really decent misguided people mixed in with the rest.

edit. irish... and the guilt trips he suffered was amazing, levels of control i had no idea existed.

IDK I went to catholic school and was an altar boy I no longer attend church unless for a funeral or wedding but I do have to say that Irish catholics are a pretty tolerant bunch kind of live and let live folks. I used to serve 7 am mass with this old Irish priest and by old I mean like 900 years old and before we would come out of the rectory he would hit his flask of some type of Irish whiskey.
