Just got a Mandolin :D

And the coolest part is my dad made it when he was younger during a instrument making class or something. The mandolin is very beautiful and I may have to upload some pics

Its funny you should say that, I got it from my aunt who had it just sitting in a case in the closet. And I mentioned to her my interest in mandolin while on vacation in hawaii, and they were talking about uke's and me buying one maybe. And basically said I would way rather learn/ play mando. Then she remembered it :lol:

Nice. I have a WW1 era one that I bought in disgusting condition and renovated.

Can you play other stringed instruments at all or is this the first? There's a few good sites online, but be wary of the ones that demand you pay for more than the most basic content.

I have been teaching myself guitar for a couple years, my only stringed experience is acoustic and electric guitar. I play pretty loosely so to speak lol because I love jut doing improv and stuff and the mandolin is perfect for that. I have probably already been all the way up and down the neck a couple of times+ :rofl2:

Thats awesome you renovated and old antique mandolin. Instruments like that are the best. Care to post a pic?

Yeah I was hoping for an F style honestly but this flat backed A is pretty rockin and I really dig it :lol:

It is pretty badass! I am super stoked, I was planning on buying one soon but this is way much better, and now I just know it was meant to be!
