Re: Gymnopilus liquiritiae ? [Re: doctorghosty]

I have been looking almost everyday for the past 3 months. My heart and soul are both into it. Admittedly, at first it was just to get high, but then I slowly became addicted to mushroom hunting. I felt like I got rewarded today. But it's cool to find something new, so I'll ship a few.

Very hospitable Ghosty.

Is that bruising Or dirt on the caps?

If you consider the source, it's kinda pitiful

They bruise purple with no effort, but I did cut the stem at the base. There is a little bit of dirt on the cap of the mushroom in the upper left hand corner. I also believe the 4 mushrooms in the lower right corner are a different species.

Hmmm, interesting. Are you sending some out to Gravy?? He's the man and will be able to tell you for sure. But I see that he thinks they are in an inactive clad of Gymns so we'll see
even if they are just a plain ol' undescribed inactive sp, lol, thats pretty damn Cool In My Book! :havesomescience:

Thats an excellent collection. I put down 350g tea with this species a few years ago. Cool buzz, not psilocybin though. What makes you think the four in the corner are different?

They just appeared to be more yellow than orange, I found them miles away and on an actual dead conifer rather than dead hardwood, they didn't appear to bruise purple on the stipe, and the margin of the cap does not curve in like the caps of orange mushrooms. Perhaps only having two/four is not much to go on and I am probably wrong. I did get a print from each kind though so you can distinguish them.
These are some super meaty gyms though.
