You can find Amanita Muscaria spores at http://www.sporeworks.com/

I've heard that injecting the spores directly into the roots of pine trees can work. It still takes a few years, but I've heard with a little bit of reasearch and luck, it can be done. Its much eaiser to find them in the wild.

Ya, try innoculating the roots of young trees and then wait about 10 years and if you are real lucky, you may have found some in the wild by then!

If you want to waste your time on amanita spores, contact the Spore Lab, they have spores of several different amanita's in the back room, all nearly immpossible to grow.

Good luck!

Visit the Spore Lab at: http://www.sunshine.net/www/1700/sn1730
It's a trip you'll never forget!

I have heard about only one place that was able to grow Amanita Muscaria under lab conditions. They have only very limited info on the site, but I guess you could call their lab, and be nice to the scientists and they'll share with you the info. Tell your from the university and your doing a research or something. Their URL is - www.dsmz.de
What I know is this :
grow out on this agar mixture -
Malt extract 8.0 g. Glucose 7.0 g. Asparagine 0.5 g. Casein hydrolysate 1.0 g.
KH2PO4 0.5 g. MgSO4 x 7 H2O 0.5 g.
Yeast extract 1.0 g. Agar 15.0 g
Distilled water 1000.0 ml.

Then transfered into spawn, and cased under a soil with young Pine trees (seedlings). In about a year you should have amanitas.

This is only a rumor so dont take my words as thogh they are aboslute truth...
