Please help ID (possibly Lactarius hygrophoroides?)
    #20347006 -

Hello,
I have never searched for gilled mushrooms but found the following ones (see picture) today. I went through Mushrooms Demystified to find what it might be and came the closest to Lactarius hygrophoroides (mushrooms do not bruise, milk is white, gills are further apart than in L. volumes). If anyone has a good idea if this was the right ID or completely off, it would greatly be appreciated.
Thank you.

I'd call it that.

Thank you! So nothing poisonous I could interchange it with in North eastern USA?

Nope.

Your pictures, although not close-up nor exhibiting latex, are conclusive to me.  Furthermore, the Northeast is where I have found them.

If the latex was white and didn't stain the tissue, there are no look-alikes. Lactarius section lactifluus (which this is in) was raised to species status, so now this is called Lactifluus hygrophoroides
