i respect his feats. i don't care that he is bringing in the media. he is doing unreal things and pushing the boundaries of mind and body. whoever can't respect that isn't grasping the concept well.

I think Swami, err David Blaine is a brilliant street magician. He doesn't appear to be as good at big productions like what he's doing now, but he's learning and growing at what he does, just like anyone else. On the other hand, he does have us all talking about him- they say any publicity is good publicity.

I seriously doubt he is going without food (he is a magician after all)- does anyone have a current picture of him so we can do some comparison?

3 days without food? are you kidding?

you can definitely go much longer than that... its more like three weeks.

granted 44 days is a long time... but he could have done a lot of things beforehand such as carbo load, take extreme amounts of protein and vitamins, etc.

i've gone close to 3 days without food AND water, but i wasn't even close to death. sucked though :smile:

Actualy deep from watching the Discovery Channel I can tell you you are wrong, ppl have gone much longer than 44 days with just water, alot of it has to do with preparation and such but wherever your getting your info is wrong and/or outdated. Im not gonna look up links for'ya so your just gonna have to do a google search :smile:.

edit/add: I should have mentioned it was a fairly recent show on Daily Planet here in Canada, theres a decent chance a canadian shroomer saw it too, if your reading this say somethin :smile2:

I said 3 weeks without food. After 3 days without water depending on what you where doing would put one in a serious condition. I doubt you have actually gone 72 hours without putting anything into the body and felt fine.

Blain is a skinny fuck. In less than 2 weeks his body would have already used up all his fat depossits. The only the body can feed on would his his muscle tissue and organ systems. Blain could not do it. And if by some miracle he survived he would be in such a horrible condition it wouldnt have been worth $1 billion

i think its kinda cool, showing people that our rampant consumption is so unnecessary. how many americans go a day without dinner? we think, 'oh no, i'd be sooo hungry the next day' or 'im supposed to eat three meals every single day.' and we think we must have a car to get here to there to over here. staying in one place is unthinkable to us. someone said that people have lived over 44 days without food and such before, but if so few people know it, it doesnt serve the same point. i don't think he's really saying 'look what i can do!' he's showing everyone what WE can do, that we really don't need all this shit.

Actually before he began this stunt I saw an interview where he said he put on like 20-30 pounds to prepare

I find it funny how everyone hates him. People go down there daily to throw eggs and shout abuse. Somebody even tied a big mac to a remote control helicopter and flew it around the box to taunt him.

You believe everything you read in the papers then? The egg throwing etc have been isolated incidents and Blaine has just laughed them off.
The ratio o people supporting him to people booing him is probabaly in the region of thousands to 1 in favour of those supporting him. That anyone would think that people in the UK gernerally hate him is an example of how good the media is at promoting negative information and how easy it is to make suckers believe it.
