This is my experience, as well. I mean, a few people are doing some really cool things, but the vast majority is posting random, vapid shit.

Also, OP, people are only going to post the coolest looking parts of their lives because it makes them look more interesting than they actually are. If there are shitty/boring things happening, most aren't going to say it.

The friends I keep on facebook are "almost" all people that I respect on a certain level.  I also like nature, meditation, science, and news pages. Pretty much all I get on my feed is stuff I want to read about. All the social shit is mostly filtered from my feed.
Facebook is just luxury email to some people. I use it as a source to learn about new concepts and ideas.

It's a good social tool just like the shroomery. You get what you want out of it and you leave it at that. I don't get the whole facebook sucks blah blah blah, its okay, it doesn't suck, if anything it just means you have shitty "friends" lol


I mainly use it to keep in touch with my family since everyone that is related to me lives in Brazil. Not all of them have skype, so for instance, keeping in touch with my lil brother and sister, I can just video chat with them there instead of paying 5 dollars to talk to them on the phone for 10 minutes.

Same goes for certain friends that have moved away across the country. For example, my 10 year HS reunion is happening in a few weeks. If it wasn't for FB, I never would've found out where it was, or that it was even happening.

The last thing I use it for is sports news. I don't post anything, I haven't added any pictures in over a year, and blocked anyone that posted anything I found remotely annoying. Just as many people said, if you don't want to read a bunch of stupid status updates, don't be friends with a bunch of stupid people. :shrug:

Yeah, forgot about that part too.
Yeah it's sooooo much easier to keep in touch with my friends in Europe and Japan with a $15 phone call than with a free social networking site. [/sarcasm].

What a sad life we must lead indeed, to have to communicate with some people via typed words instead of spoken ones :lol:

Oh shit wait.. what are we doing here... on this social networking forum..  better delete our shroomery accounts too. Fucking peasant scrubs communicating through the keyboard..

i delete people off my newsfeed and have cool things on my newsfeed.

im afraid to delete facebook because it does have alot of pictures with me and my friends from highschool
