Facebook makes me depressed

Every time I log on, I see old friends travelling around Europe and South America (no idea how they got the money) taking pictures looking super happy and shit. Then it's people taking pictures of their fancy cars and "gizmos" and acting like everything is perfect. Makes my life in comparison feel pretty shitty.

Anyone else feel this way?

Facebook just makes me envy other people.

All facebook is is a machine to promote narcissism. People only post shit on facebook to brag, this is my experience entirely, this is what I used to do as well it is almost unavoidable. I got rid of facebook 3 months ago and after the first week havent missed it at all

If I deleted my facebook like you guys did/are advising, how would I hear about all the cool events happening? I'd inevitably miss a lot if it's only by word of mouth.

That is what I thought but I found every event worth going to was one that my friends were going to anyway so I just text them and ask whats going on on the weekend. That and the events that you dont know about it doesnt matter if you miss them cause you didnt know they were happening anyway lol.

Wow my experience with facebook is the opposite, I'll post about some trip I've just done, a new recording or some philosophical idea and have to contrast that with the blunt idiocy of what everyone else is posting.

Hodor: "here's a picture my breakfast."
Hodor Hodor: "just went to the bar and had an aWeSum tyme, here's 40 pictures of my friends and I, and 15 selfies from when I got home!"

I use it to stay in touch with friends and family thats it I never post status updates I have no pictures I just use the chat.

I used to do that as well, then I got tired of how trivial that form of communication is. What sort of friend can only communicate through email or text? If I want to talk to someone, I'll call them or go see them.

I like facebook it helps keep me in touch with my out of state friends who I don't feel like calling on the phone all the time.

I don't keep anyone who posts a lot of nonsense though I just block their posts from showing up. Simple as that.

I don't understand the omgz facebook sucks yeah I get people post dumb shit but that shit happens here and everywhere just look at sheekles threads its like fucking facebook for him here shit.

It's a good social tool just like the shroomery. You get what you want out of it and you leave it at that. I don't get the whole facebook sucks blah blah blah, its okay, it doesn't suck, if anything it just means you have shitty "friends" lol
