I'm not saying that.  The site you linked says that everyone residing in the same county as Mr. Smith has a short life expectancy.

The reason it doesn't correspond with the table you linked earlier is that the table is the average across the entire U.S. whereas the calculator you linked narrows it down by race and county.

At any rate, your statement that the prisoner is "almost certain" to die within ten years is obviously false. The most you've shown is that there is a chance he will die in prison within ten years. "almost certain" implies there is very little chance of surviving 10 years in prison.

Well, sonny, that's the nature of predictions for the future.  If I had a reliable source for future predictions, I'd use it for lottery numbers.

Still, only 2.1% of federal prisoners are over 65.  Obviously less are over 75.

I would like to bet on it but collecting might be a little hard. Also, the 10 year wait makes it unattractive. You could win tomorrow but i'd have to wait 10 years and then you've run off.
