He doesn't live in Anoka County, though...does he?  Your source says little falls, mn.  That is in Morrison County.

I don't know, what would that have to do with it? You think they put them in an institution right next to their home? I picked the first one on the list that was in mn. You obviously went through the whole list desperately trying to justify your bias. I have no idea why there would be such a wide discrepancy between counties in the same state. It may be they have no area for older inmates and put them all in general with the young dirtbags. Most likely he will be sent to another facility and live to be well past 80.

Getting a little away from the fact that he did us a favor getting some scum off the street.

No, I did what any intellectually honest and rational person would do.  I looked up the county in which he resides and chose that county.  You are the one who cherry picked the county.

He's currently incarcerated in Stearns County:

Of course, your calculator is for the general population and not people in prison...Still, 7.8 < 10

Getting back to the story, the death of the kids is isn't tragic in the car-accident-takes-out-a-vet-to-be tragic, but you certainly won't find me among the crowd all gung-ho about this guy's defense. Sad story all around, and maybe he should get off on the charges, but he sure as hell doesn't deserve any medal. His personal views aside, baiting burglers into your home and shooting them execution style is not self-defense in my mind. Sad story.

EDIT: That offender lookup is really neat. I didn't realize that was available to the public. Thanks for showing me that Enil.

Their deaths are tragic in that they were 17 and 18 years old.  People that age do stupid shit all of the time, and these two kids happened to get killed because of it.  Certainly, it's their fault, but it's tragic nonetheless.

LDS, you are the only one acting like a fool and obviously trolling. You also have a history of following enlil and agreeing with everything he says, doing his dirty work. Some say you are he. He trolls too but is more refined about it, compared to you at least. What have you contributed to the thread? Trolling, thats all.

Enlil, it does say 80.2 years expectancy in prison for the other county. The one you hunted and hunted for must be an anomaly. I simply took the first one on the list for that state. I can see no reason why someone would die so soon in that county. If that were true there would be investigations to see whats going on. When you see an obvious outlier like that you throw it out if you are honest.

When you bust into someone's house, you better be prepared to pay a big price. Lots of people have been killed by teenage hoodlums, these were no angels. I say he did the right thing but may have gone overboard. Is it better they would get a few months in jail and go out to do it again? This was not their first time around.

No, it doesn't.  The calculator has NOTHING to do with life expectancy in prison.  If you actually read it before you posted it, you'd notice that in the upper right hand corner, it tells you where the data comes from:

"Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Health Statistics. Data compiled from Compressed Mortality File 1999-2010 Series 20 No. 2P, 2013" 

According to the CDC, "The Compressed Mortality data include mortality and population counts for all U.S. counties for the years 1968 to 2010"

In other words, it's a nationwide statistic covering the entire population...not just the prison population.

I wasn't the one who made the accusation originally. On another thread lds logged in and apparently thought he was on another account. He is a suck up for sure anyway and a rude one. But you graciously overlook his rudeness since he is doing your dirty work.

This is probably the most ridiculous thing you've said so far. In this thread anyway. If that was true, it would give the same result for each county. Its for prison inmates, not general population.

Yes, it's nationwide, covering the entire population.  It's separated by county.  It isn't prisoner-specific at all.  I hope you're just playing dumb, because if you're not, I overestimated you by a lot.

Here is a description of the data in the compressed mortality file.  You'll notice it has no field for whether or not someone is incarcerated.

"The mortality data on the Compressed Mortality File are based on information from all death certificates filed in the fifty states and the District of Columbia"

What should have the man done to prevent prosecution? Just had shot them once so they couldn't have harmed him or get away ?

The link is "insideprison.com" life expectancies. So i assume it deals with life in prison but i don't see where it says that specifically. Otherwise it should correspond with govt actuarial tables. Are you saying everyone in that county you carefully picked has a short life expectancy?

Atreyu, i tend to have the same point of view. He got out of line shooting them after they were down and no longer a danger. Thats what he did wrong, also admitting to it was a mistake. Is the man a danger to society or just a danger to burglars?
