We need pics of this giant fabled fence.
Also there are only a bajillion deer in the world so if your neighbor is planning on eating them big woop. I'm pretty sure I passed about 4-5 freshly splattered deer on the side of the road today coming home from my trip.

Are these deer pretty young, like fawns... are they bucks; any antlers on them? If they're adult deer with no fawns I wouldn't even think about calling the deer police; I probably wouldn't call at all because it does seem like something a noisy 60 year old women would do or something. I'd go talk to the neighbour and ask him WTF is up with the deers LOL 

If he's planning on making jerky then defiantly try to get in on that :yesnod:

talking with my neighbor only puts a target on me if anything suspicious ever happens to his property. so let me get this straight. if I have evidence someone is doing something unethical or illegal by say...keeping a wild animal for who knows what reason, then I should try and reason with them? to keep a wild animal locked up within view of the entire neighborhood is pretty stupid and shows he doesn't have the best judgement. oh, did I mention he's our county sheriff?

I could have worded it differently but what I mean are there are unjust laws. I find it funny how many people on here bitch about the drug war and every single news article that is posted but they defend the senseless slaughter of animals that cant do shit to defend themselves. Dude, you're bothered by the deer, isn't that the problem? Then it's something between you and him and you could at least try to solve it like grownups do before you call whoever you need to enforce the law - which may or may not be in line with your interests. I mean, come on, if you grow pot where you're not supposed to and someone is bothered by the fact that you do so, again, what do you want them to do: call the cops or reason with you first?
And one thing is pretty certain; if you rat this guy out, don't you think that you're just making a bigger target out of yourself? Do you expect that it will remain a big secret who called the animal protection people? I'm just pointing out that you may be shooting yourself in the foot with this.
