Beta-alanine isn't a placebo and it does work
    #19649123 -

source1

Beta-alanine reduces the amount of lactic acid in your muscles by increasing the amount of carnosine in your muscles and buffering the Hydrogen atoms... or something like that.

Tests on subjects showed that users of beta-alanine (4,000 to 6,000 mg a day) had their carnosine levels increased by 60% in 3 or 4 weeks.

I got a pound of pure pharmaceutical grade beta-alanine off ebay for 15 bucks. I've only been taking 6,000 mg a day though. Usually 1/3 of that in the morning, 1/3 like 6 hours later and 1/3 another 6 hours later. I have noticed things like not being sore at work, although still tired. But my only question is, if it's so great, why's it so cheap? I'm going to keep taking it though. 1 lb = 250 servings so that'll last atleast 3 months or so.

One answer is that the majority of studies suggest beta alanine does absolutely nothing.  It doesn't increase performance at all.

Also, it's a dietary supplement, so the quality control is essentially non-existant.  You may have bought a pound of salt mixed with lead from ebay and unless you tested it, you wouldn't know.

You think this is salt and lead? It's pure pharmaceutical grade as well as there are many signs that it's legit.

Beta-alanine does give you the "pins and needles" feeling, which was what I noticed when I took my first dose.

Beta-alanine give you parastesia (pins and needles). Yes it does increase carnosine levels which increases the pH buffering against acid buildup in your muscles. Indirectly, this will increase your strength because you have more time before failure to workout your muscles so you will get stronger faster.

Nitric oxide dilates blood vessels so you can get more oxygen to your muscles.

Why the fuck would you take C4 it's the shittiest product on the market and seeing people take that stuff makes me cringe.

I have 'taken' c4, I don't anymore, I don't really workout anymore, but when I was taking it wasn't into health, and I realize now how overpriced it is, your better off buying separate pure ingredients for desired supplement, I realize this, but when I was 18, I didn't give a fuck, it gave me a great high to be honest, like ' on top of the world' high,
