when i find myself thinking about a concern of mine, it always makes so much sense. but when i try to explain i find it hard to articulate. either this could mean i have a terrible command of the english language and/or that i don't think enough. but then it occured to me that the language i use inside my head is different than english. i'm not sure how this language works, a complex series of nerotransmitters perhaps, but i would like to know more about how and why it is so simple in my head....
strangely enough, this idea seems worse and worse as i type it... maybe i shouldn't have..

i could go into this for hrs but im to lazy right now so ill make it short. of course you can think without using words, its how we thought before we learned language. witch language we are taught that the only logical form of thinking is by using words, which is true in a sense considering that logic and concepts of morals only exist within language. i also believe there are times when we should drop language and think with just...thought (lack of better word). examples when this should be down is when dealing with pure emotion or experiences. ill shut up now

I completely understand what you?re saying. I?ve got a similar problem just the other way round. I find my way of thinking very uneffective because I think in words instead of ... thoughts(?). It surprises me that you don?t seem to think this way too because I read in this topic for it was really bothering me. And what I learned was that everybody would think this way because ... ehm ... sorry I don?t have good enough grasp of the english language to tell you what I read about it. But there should definately be some english links that deal with this issue, just search the internet (as I always do when I want to know ANYthing). Science already took up this topic. Good luck!

my thoughts seem to be more like feelings than words. i can have an idea in my head that only takes a moment for me to feel and understand most aspects of, but if i where to try to put it into words and explain, things could get a little confusing...
it's like the difference between looking at art, and explaining or describing art... or something.
results may vary...

I know what you are saying too. I also find that my thoughts are sometimes like a one street. By that I mean that I'll be on a train of thought and the interconnectedness of what would appear to be completely separate things becomes apparent. Like having 5 separate trains of thought that weave together and lead to an epiphany or realization that is so obvious once you reach the end. But trying to remember or reconstruct how you got there is impossible let alone explain it to someone. My mind definitely has a language all it's own.

THINKING IN PICTURES
Im mostly a verbal thinker but, when im realizing a certain concept or understanding. I sometimes get it in the form of a visual analogy. Except the image doesnt mirror physical reality. For instance: An analogy for "repair" or "reconstruction" was the image of a blue foam like ball reconstructing itself from two halved pieces (the context this came to me in escapes me.). It's very interesting, every time i get one of these type of thoughts, im always very inspired by them.

A lot of my memory goes to songs I heard, I can like reproduce songs that I hear in my head perfectly. This will definitely be a helpful tool when I develop my pitch regonition this year!
I mean, I have songs that I haven't even listened to forever and they will just start playing in my head, and I can hear the singer perfectly and so forth... I can even play bass in my head. I can almost see a fretboard when I try, and I can play the notes in my head...
But yeah, music is God, and I am the Bass God.. muhahaha. Peace.

WRONG! The explanation lies in poetry and art; the language of angels. &

In your brain, comprehension, thaught, these are fealings. Languages help us express these fealings to other people. The more words you know, the better you can express the fealings within yourself.

yeah, i find the more my vocabulary stretches the easier i can communicate feeling. if you want to communicate feeling, use art to evoke that same feeling in the viewer

I ran into some dude on the street today who wrote a book called 'Mind Language'. You can check it out at www.mindlanguage.net. Not sure what its totally about but he said it's different strategies for communicating more efficiently. Probably just a crock though...
