Language
    #5312444 - 02/18/06 12:18 AM (17 years, 11 months ago)

Language without barriers is much more interesting and fun than language with barriers, at least it is to me at this point, as I think ive had quite enough of experience with the barriers and limitations, but isn't that so the process :p, build em up knock em down.

I say dissolve the boundary's!! Surely there's nothing to fear?
:wink::heart:

Perhaps the one that "translates" our feelings and insights. And it should sound kind of noisy and the same thing will never sound the same with several occasions.
At least that's how I see it.

All this time I've loved you
And never known your face
All this time I've missed you
And searched this human race
Here is true peace
Here my heart knows calm
Safe in your soul
Bathed in your sighs

Language is inanimate. It's existence as active is illusionary, derived from the fact that it's used strictly by living beings.

Language is animate. Illusionary and non illusionary, which one is inanimate? Living beings only use language? Wait I thought you said language is inanimate how can something inanimate be used?

What language has no barriers? The language of light and love.

Have you ever used a hammer?  :smirk: Language is a tool, be it symbolic in nature, it is just a tool.

Tool for what? I know the limits of a hammer, what are the limits on language? Sure english is a great tool, language provides many great tools, I can view the hammer as a form of language.

Alford Korzybski stated, "A map is not the territory it represents, but if correct, it has a similar structure to the territory, which accounts for its usefulness".

Nothing could be more true for language. Language is not what it attempts to represent, but if used properly and concisely, it can be pretty useful.

You said Language is not what it attemps to represent, to say that is short sighted, how do you know that, to me you just put up a boundary of the possibilitys of language. Communication of language is more than just english, its possibilitys are limitless. INFINITE.

The use of language and what language is, how are they different? Whats an impropper way of language?
