Yes.

Bringing me back to my point they should be legal so they are LESS harmful to the user and can be used in a safe environment without many of the added risks. (diseases from needles, Impure drugs).

Do any of you remember those clinics in new York or whatever where they did that for addicts and included directions on how to shootup? That easily takes away many of the dangers of drugs and even more risks would be decreased with full on legalization.

Lets be honest, if heroin becomes legal do you seriously think non heroin users are gonna go out and buy some?  People don't use drugs for their health concern, not because their illegal.

I agree with wildchikd.

Not really...I'm an optimist..I believe we can change the tide and actually reduce the amount of users and addicts...

And if they do that's why we hold voluntary drug seminars in the next room of where they can safely administer their drugs for the ones who actually want to quit.

We don't need to reduce drug use/abuse. That's only a false image, because we assume they create All Societal problems, when in reality its greed and ignorance that cause much more harmful societal problems than any drug.

Back to my point, people should have the freedom to ingest any substance they want. Why do you wish to reduce drug use and take away that freedom?

So we disagree here...I don't believe that people have an absolute right to ingest whatever they want...I DO believe that society has an interest in reducing addiction, and I do believe that some substance should have tight government control...including certain explosives, radioactive materials, addictive substances, etc...

But back to the topic at hand...how do we get the end of the drug war...

I think that all drugs should be legal.
Real education on drugs should be mandatory.
People who commit violent crimes and/or ruin their lives should still be punished/treated.
People who ingest chemicals should not be punished.
Me sitting at home smoking a bowl doesn't danger society.

The end of the drug war? The drug war is drugs being illegal so we legalize them and then theres no war on drugs... (I am not saying this is the solution to ending people using drugs)

And I agree with tight government control on those items as well.  But drugs aren't nearly as dangerous as them.

I possess a MMAR card provided by the federal government of Canada to use 7 grams of medical marijuana legally. I have the chronic illness Crohns disease and I have survived colon cancer twice. I believe had I not used medical marijuana and the sacred mushroom I would not be here today to tell you that in some places it is quite legal to possess, eat, vaporize, hot knife or smoke marijuana. Eventually because it is legal in some places for patients to legally use marijuana the laws will change concerning the legalities of the use of marijuana.
