Its like punk rock pinups of the 50's. Spinning off Bettie Page and rock n roll

Musically speaking I prefer  Psychobilly.  Double bass slapping makes me twitch in a good way

goofy movie  Cry Baby

traditionally Rockabilly is a music style
a mixture of rock and roll and country (think johny cash or elvis)

the more modern version is based off the whole 1950's pinup/greaser look
musically it's much closer to punk rock with stand up bass'
and if you also incorporate punk into the appearance you wind up with psychobilly
