That's the whole thing behind the opiates..... this is what happens when you STOP them - you feel like dying and its unbearable.. they create a very strong addiction and every time you do more it strengthens this effect.... Remember that the further you go the further you have to go to come back.

Imagine how you feel without having done the stuff for a few days.. terrible - you can't figure out how you were living without the stuff DAY after DAY before you found it, right? Now imagine a CLEAN year down the line.. if you held off for a year, you'd be wondering how you were living WITH the stuff for so long. Also you'd be wondering where all your extra money came from :wink:

It sounds like you're slipping back in, man - although I do not support this activity and am disappointed, I have great faith in you and will be here for you when you're looking to get back out. Remember that most former opiate addicts will tell you they were never "ready" to quit; they just HAD to.

Yeah dlag, I hate to see one of my fellow shroomerites feeling so down. Especially a great guy like you. I know where you are coming from with all of this stuff you are going through and I definitely feel for you. We are alike in a great many ways. Just try to think about the fact that it can't get much worse and when you turn it around it will only get better and better from there. Ever hear of tough love dlag? i mean come on bro... if you really wanted to stop taking opiates you have to stop taking them... i know everyone slips up once and awhile.. but damn ever since this posted started youve fallen off the wagon atleast every other day.. and eating percs and vics is still opiates!! curbing your addiction with coke and other drugs isnt goin help... man i just really want to see you get throu this but you need to change or do something else before it gets too late.. rememeber what i said about if you think withdrawl is bad now wait to its around 3 year mark as i once was... every time you eat more opiates its making your withdrawls stronger and stronger.. you havent even experience real withdrawls yet.. 3-4 months isnt shit .. when you think your goin die and have to be rushed to the hostipal cuz your body is giving out on you then youll understand.. plz whatever you do stop taking opiates.. keep taking your benzo's smoke some weed and if you have to drink a lil.. but remember nothing is good in large amounts.. im praying for you dlag i hope you come throu.  :bong:

I'm proud of you for your newfound determination :smile:

Remember that every "slip-up" has the ability to drag you right back down to "the bottom" or may even help you discover that the "rock bottom" you had envisioned isn't even close to how bad things can really get.... It works like this for the positive side as well, though, so for every time you tell yourself "nah fuck those drugs for tonight man I'm just gunna read, watch Howard, read, go on a run, read, hit the shroomery, read, and go to sleep relatively early so I can wake up with plenty of time to prepare for school.." you will be strengthening your ability to live on without the drugs.

The longer you stay sober the more you'll realize how big of a mark some of these drugs are leaving on you.

and believe it or not, this kind of thing happens several times a week here in America..

If the fucking dumbass government wasn't spending so much time fighting POT maybe they could help some of these people out. They're not, though, so its up to you man - take care of yourself.

I was just reading back over the whole thread and I'd like to re-state something I said right at the beginning:

Hey

I have read this thread a few times but I hadn't read it for a while and I now see that you have fallen back into old ways!  I think everybody who has posted here has been very supportive, however it doesn't seem to have amounted to enough to keep you away from the opiates.

Time to realise a few things here dlag,

This girl, you love her right? she is bad for you ok - I have the same problem, I gotta stay away from this girl and skip everything where I have the possibility of seeing her because I can't handle the fact she is with someone else.  Tough I know, I feel for you but you have to start avoiding her, do you see the link between Oxy and this girl? every time she comes into the picture you end up doing Oxy!.  Its hard I know but that shit she did to you before, kissing you and whatnot and then seeing this other guy.. thats unforgivable and a clear sign that she doesn't know what she wants and that she doesn't respect you either.

Bottom line is that she will never want to get back with you whilst you are like this any way.  You want to know why? because you're coming off weak.  Very few girls are going to want to be with someone who is acting weak.  You are not weak, you are acting weak.  It takes guts to be strong in this situation I know but you have to pull yourself out of this problem. 

About the only thing that keeps me sane is lifting weight, lifting weight is an extremely effective way of purging all bad emotions, trust me.. I could walk into a gym with the most angry mental state and walk out passive as hell.. once you have took your stress out, you won't be feeling it.  Seriously, just get a gym and every time you feel bad, go lift.  You will get stronger, you will sweat a lot of the toxins that you are putting into your body, you will get more confident, you will realise that there are very few things that are worth worrying about.  You need to stop associating opiates with relief and try a new treatment.  Its called physical exertion and its a more natural, healthy way of solving mental problems.  And don't think that it doesn't feel good to lift weight because it does, there is a strange feeling of enjoying it.  I can't explain it because like my negative emotions and stuff like that I just don't remember it after I have walked out of the gym.  I have never ever known anybody who goes to my gym to have any severe emotional problems or addictions, you want to know why? because its damn near impossible whilst you're going to the gym.  It will also reduce your testosterone a fair bit so you won't feel so emotional about the girl. 

The only things that should be important in your life are school and feeling good about yourself.  You will never feel good about yourself whilst you are piling cocktails of drugs into your system to offset the bad feelings.  Don't you understand? you aren't ever facing the reality.  The reality is that you're not doing so bad you fool! you're in college, you have a home!  Come on dlag you're better than this shit. :smile: 

I think its great that people are supportive of you but its time for some tough points.. just remember that in a few months time you will look back at this moment you read this and realise that you were weak then.  You NEED to get through school, it is the only thing holding you away from losing all control.  More than likely your college has a gym, get in there and tell me you don't feel better after working out!.

dlag- Brother you have got to find a way to deal with the stressors in life without drugs. I know its easier said then done ,but you have to do it.
Using drugs recreationaly is one thing ,but using them to cope with life when it gets tough is a bad loop my friend. I know this from personal experiance. Your young and smart dlag, but your drug habits are dangerous as they are those of an addict. If you continue to use drugs to deal with all your problems things will get worse as you age. You become dependent on drugs to slove the problems ,but they don't really solve them they just mask them. Then after awhile they don't even work at that, they just make you feel more low. It sounds like you have a very addictive personality like myself. The best advice I can offer you is to start dealing with life without drugs to help you cope with the down times. It took me decades to learn this the hard way.
