Gave up ciggies a several days ago
    #3703275 -

Well, so I quit smoking, first, around a month ago.  Free for a couple of weeks.  Then I went and bought a couple of packs, but only had a couple of cigs a day.  Now, it's been a few days since I've smoked.  And  now I'm not getting cravings, but this lung pain.  And I DON'T mean that "tightness" that's acute and goes away after you have a couple of smokes.  It's been too long since I've had a cig for that sort of tightness.  This is more like cold symptoms...lung pain, though I'm not coughing up a hell of a lot.
I was just wondering if anyone else had odd, "illness/cold" lung sensations for a several days after quitting.  It's strange; I suppose it's just the lung tissue healing up.  But this is different than when I'd quit in the past.
Okay, thanks.  I'd be appreciative of anyone else who'd care to share smoking cessation sensations/side effects.

It is your cilia slowly rising/healing from the gooey tar pits for lungs you had.

Yep, Boom and Shroom are right.

You also might want to look at an expectorant, such as Guaifenesin, as it helps to produce mucus and clean your respiratory system.

Making the noise "penicillin" is no substitute for actually taking penicillin.

Could you elaborate more on that? Is it honestly something that can help clean your respiratory system? Or is it mostly placebo and all it really needs is time..

Cause I wouldn't mind something that can help clean my lungs.

Guaifenesin is similar in structure and action to Capcaisin (sp?), which is the chemical in hot peppers that makes them hot. (Guaifenesin doesn't burn, don't worry, lol) It's also an active ingredient in a lot of DXM syrups, so there's always a use for it if you ever do an extraction.

Specifically, it "promotes or facilitates the removal of secretions from the respiratory tract."

A good brand name is Mucinex, they even make Time Release guaifenesin preparations.
