poke !
    #1913763 - 09/13/03 09:38 PM (13 years, 8 months ago)

well you might have noticed my post about tyvek, well for the time being(until I get paid), I am going to use band-aids

So heres my question, I am going to cut them a bit (and add tape) to make little fuzzy pads, SHOULD I put these pads on the inside???

or the top of the lid

and as for poking a hole, after I poke the hole(and inject spores) I will be left with a hole !, but if I cover it in tape, TO MUCH air might get in right ????

maybe a little dab of tape only where the hole is so the band-aid can still breathe???

as for tyvek same thing, ? small hole , then cover the hole and let the rest of the tyvek breathe???

thanks

Air is good but not too much. I pc with tape over the hole the pull it back to innoc. then reseal. I use masking tape.

PC the jars, inject the spores and cover the holes with a band aid. Don't put tape over the hole then add the band aid.

free tyvek:

click me twice

you have to click this link twice, and THEN you can close the first window.  it is free, and better than bandaids.

Man, a huge bag of polyfill is only 1 or 2 bucks at the most and I would strongly recommend it over the band-aid.

1 or 2 dollars???????

see the thing is I am VERY poor right now(until friday) I bought everything I needed and a 125$ pressure cooker, and then I got all stoned and went to get chinese take out, and the next day I had no funds for anything left!!

but 1 or 2 dollars I could handle, I will just borrow it , and maybe go to the same craft store that I got my silica from, BUT, if that doesnt work , THEN! I will use a band-aid

as for the polyfill, I dont like how its so soft and fluffy, I assume I should cover it VERY well while using the PC, so that water doesnt get in

polyfill is synthetic fiber, like plastic. It doesn't absorb water. If you pack it tightly water can't even get in or out, just a little bit of steam and humidity will seep through. Just pack it tight! It's a pain in the ass but worth it.
