Tyvek can be generally be purchased in small or large amounts at almost any local building supply store. I do not condone or promote the misuse of anything. You only assume it would be stolen. Just how you think, I guess.

Yup, myc is smart. It grows well on the right stuff.

EDIT: I have never posted promoting the compost site. Others (beyond my control) did so prematurely. You bitching about it in posts, brought lots of attention to it. Not my doing. It was yours, more than anyone else?s. The site is under construction & not even running.

I "freeload" nothing & contribute what I can. When the site, bulk kits & all else are complete, up & running. I may ask to, pay for & run banners here. I suppose you consider "Stamets" a freeloader too. His site gets plenty of notoriety here & he is not a paid advertiser.

You are hallucinating & getting more delusional by the minute. Long story short.

Long ago I posted here about an "injection port lid". Not long after I did that, MM began vending a lid like that. Coincidence maybe, but I doubt it. Who cares? I don't.

Once it became publicly known that "Tyvek" & other assorted jar lid filter materials could be found locally, at low cost. You go off again, knocking them at every possible opportunity.

When I made the first big batch of this compost. You EM'ed me -- asserting it was marketable & you wanted to vend it on an "exclusive" basis. I turned you down. You went off (even posting partial content of private EM's between us - here) & continue act irrational about the subject, to this day.

Then, for the "good" of the community, I post how to build an even better lid (with an injection port & filter installed) & where the parts can be had for pennies (on/line). Again, you react as if I am some kind of idiot.

The compost website is obviously "UNDER CONSTRUCTION". Excepting the compost, all the products, the BULK KIT & other items are not yet available (but will be - soon). So what, who cares? No one, excepting, you keep sniveling about it.

Certainly, I am no "Stamets" & would never assert so. You act as if you are some "mycological" genius. Yet, use other peoples "Tek's", idea's, can't seem to develop a worthwhile "kit", vend other peoples products as a drop shipper & cannot even develop & manufacture a fresh bulk mushroom compost, to vend yourself.

You even go so LOW as to post the word "NARC", when knocking my endeavors. It is my humble opinion, he who shouts that - first, is most often trying to direct attention away from himself.

Your MicronMMagick "Affiliate Program" collects *SSN or FEIN* numbers, for "alleged" tax purposes. If that is the actual purpose (?), you should publicly declare the actual "Tax ID number" of the "Affiliate Program" company, who would be sending registrants SSN to the IRS, if they derive taxable income from it.

It is you who is driving yourself OFF THE DEEP -- END. Not anyone else. No one want to, or needs to. You do a fine job of it -- yourself. The only fear I have is these delusions of yours may become a danger to this community.

Anno, you might think about  "locking" this puppy up. Otherwise, Mr. MM will (no doubt) have a temper tantrum & continue to rabble rouse, for no sane reason.

Ok, everone seems very passionate about the contamination barriers, so dont bite my head off i im saying something silly and its just that it works fo me.
In my limited experience i have always used 3M micropore tape, with no problems.
My reason being is that we have used it in the lab in the past (i work in a biochem/mol biology lab) to keep our cell work sterile. I just leave my jars a bit unscrewed and wrap a layer or two of tape around the jar before pressure cooking. The jars retain moisture and dont get contam (so far)

anyway, both are suitable, along with filter disks, though i have personally had better luck with tyvek ( from chem suits ) than polyfill. And i have NEVER used a filter disk, so i cant comment on it.

i dont know if i match the 10% polyfill, but i did lose a jar or two every couple of cases. since i switched to tyvek ( 8 months or more) i have had no contams in the making spawn stage. I also have noticed growth has been slightly improved, not by a lot, but enough to notice, and this is on a variety of strains.
