Possible future workers revolution.
    #18696952 -

Just had a serious talk with someone. Turns out we both think that a 99% revolution is borderline inevitable. DISCUSS!

I'm totally not condoning any violent or anti USA activity

It will depend on a variety of factors. If wages continue to decline and unemployment rises then yea I think revolution is inevitable. On the other hand the economy could hopefully recover and any ideas of revolution will be squashed simply beacuse the majority are satisfied.

There are plenty of jobs available.

I don't know where you are living, but where I am from there are plenty.

Some of them require education and some of them do not.

What I have seen lately is:

Nursing, graphic designers, care givers, gas riggers, oil riggers, truck drivers, fast food workers, carbide grinding workers, and lots more.

Why would there be a revolution?

Because people are too lazy to look for a job? Or because they demand a certain salary?

There are plenty of jobs and America is a great place to live. We, for the most part, live glorious lives compared to other parts of the world.

It pisses me off to but as the saying goes money talks America could easily become more orwellian while still remaining economically competitive. Any revolution will need broad support and if the majority are gainfully employed and enjoying the fruits of there labor then revolution is nearly nil I'm talking in the US. If economic conditions worsended and stayed bad however its a whole other ballpark most revolutions start from purely econmic concerns.

I agree which is why I said that conditions would need to worsen. Also salaries for the most part have not kept pace with inflation meaning the average worker is working harder and longer for less pay if this continues unabated a revolution could easily brew.

Wages have not declined, they have stagnated, but they also have more purchasing power.  The people who are working, and it is approaching a post female work force revolution low as a percentage, are generally doing OK.  The notworkers are being bought off by politicians paying them to not work.  Do you think this guy is going to be joining any revolution?

The revolt is more likely to come from people paying this cunt's bills.

I just see so much unpredictability in the future. So many CRAZY, really truly crazy futuristic things are going to happen in the next 40 years.

For instance, they can now essentially grow any new organ artificially. Possibly extending the lives of the wealthy by many years.

Ha hardly it will come from the unemployed who can't find work but want to. The guy you showcased is a bum sure but he isn't the problem the problem is lack of jobs and stagant wages. When those who want to work can't find even the most menial of jobs that will be evident of a systemwide breakdown. We are obviously not there yet however it could easily happen.

I think for me it'll be only about my physical condition. Or if i get dimentia.

I know you're probly just estimating 60. I'm just saying I wouldn't pre-determine a date for such a thing.

Now im thinking I might be too interested in what happens in the future to off myself. I mean, the future is one of the most interesting things possible.

So many boundaries are going to be tested and or destroyed. Technologically, but also with social issues and the like.

THAT, is a good point. It really is more about the wages and inflation not lining up.

Not to mention the fact that there is no gold behind our money, and that we're just printing money as it is.

Ah, the future is finally here. All our cinematic experiences are coming true, no?

I also saw on the news that in Europe they have successfully made a hamburger from the (stem cells?) of a cow by somehow forming flesh in a test tube/lab. Interesting... The end to world hunger! Or the beginning of tyranny? They said it may take a 5 years before it hits the mass market.

So, maybe, we are looking at our Brave New World?

The only system that is broken is the border system.
