i feel ya on the muscle car. i had a 1969 olds 442, 455 motor, dual gate shifter. twas awesome. what made it even better was $0.89 gasoline. i used to love to stay up to watch carson and ed do the tonight show. i think i was born at a good time, just after carter took office. now in my 30s, self employed, with a young boy and a girl due in a few months, there is no other time or place i would rather be.

these are the good times

Oh, $0.75/gal. gas for my 9 MPG Big Block.... Those were the days!

Yeah, you're in a good place... I wouldn't mind being 15 years younger.  Congrats on your offspring. I wish you all well. :congrats:

I'm sure a number of people can safely say they wont be alive for another 13 years. Those same people are usually pretty content with that.  What's the surprise? Can't face the fact there bud?

I doubt that is what he meant though.

How true....I'll be 50 next month and considering how I have abused my body over the years I would consider myself lucky to be around in 13 years.

Fact? What fact? Why don't you let Ripple answer for himself and go back to your stone-age ideals. "Pipes and gears"... Grow up and face the future.

Being content is the key to a happy life.

I'm not 50 at all,and I can probably say the same thing. All said and Done i'm perfectly content with my age,and the time in society i was born. I may have the ideals of times past, and i may abhor technology, but fuck it. No need wishing upon things that are impossibilities.

My dad was a 3-pack-a-day smoker and drank beer all day, every day, for most of his late life.  He lived to be 72.

You'll be around a while, my friend, please god.

The disadvantage is the history I've witnessed first-hand that most kids today will never even know about.

This happens every generation.  The next generation will be telling their grandkids how they 'missed out' on flying the first flying cars. :smirk:

I wonder about this all the time.  I always thought I was living the 'tech age', but then i find kids in highschool are saying things like 'My first PC was a Pentium 3, way back then!".  wtf.
So yeah, youth is wasted on the young, and I'm already starting to feel the effects...
