The carbohydrates in corn are mostly starches. Corn syrup manufacturers use various enzymes to chemically transform those into simple sugars.

LOL at this whole thread.  I think they were having problems with GMO's in China from a scholarly publication I read.. could be wrong I was doing a lot of drugs at the time and my memory is hazy.

IMO the real reason GMO's are bad (aside from the possible mutations down the line) are the people pushing it. MONSANTO, these guys produced Agent Orange during the Vietnam war and who knows what other things we don't know about.  I'm pretty sure they are the ones pushing the GMO monster, buying up copyrights to genetics and destroying hundreds of 'heirloom' type veggies to create a singular packaged version of what we eat.

Like imagine corn in your head, it's the big fat puffy yellow stalk right?  There used to be all kinds of different varieties, you know types that the Native Americans of the East Coast of the US would grow for 'maize' and it looked nothing like that, it was smaller and had multi-colored dark kernals.  Where can you find stuff like that nowadays?  Pretty much nowhere I think.  GMO companies have gone a long way to phase that out.. for the sake of $ - so they can have a monopoly on crop.

Here is peer reviewed research about the "delusional parasitosis" morgellons disease. Everybody always wants proof but does not put forth the effort to read the article. The F1000 research articles are probably the most unbiased and reputable work you will find. You daft? It happened. But it never made it to market because it failed.
The goal was to create a tomato more resistant to frost and cold, but it didn't work.
