quick question

can i stack jars in my p.c.? it fits 5 on the bottom but i have 7 and dont want to have to wait till tomorrow to do just 2 jars.

will it break if there is no water to be touching the top jars? do i just need to loosen the lids?

Make sure the bottom jars are not in direct contact with the bottom of the PC. You can do this with the stand thingie that comes with the PC to keep the jars off the bottom or by folding a towel and putting it in the bottom, then put the jars on top of that. You can stack a second layer of jars on top of the first as long as they fit. This is a normal and common way to sterilize jars. The top jars do not have to be touching the water. In fact, the bottom jars don't either, though they usually are at least partially submerged.

Make sure you purge the PC of air by letting it vent steam for about five minutes before you put the weight on. You want only water vapor, no air, in the PC when you're sterilizing.

Also, NEVER walk away and leave a PC unattended. You need to sit there and watch it the whole time.

instead of a towel i used a saucer(plate)upside down, it done the trick and the rattle was quite mesmerising.

yeah you can stack them but you can only stack them so high on my PC I can stack them to where the haddles are
