Just called 911 for the first time

So I'm driving home from work on a 4 lane road, separated into 2 lanes on each side by a grass median.  The speed limit for this road is 45 mph.

I'm driving in the far right lane and all of a sudden the car in front of me (it was probably only 8 yards in front of me)  swerves to right, onto the shoulder. 

I'm like "wtf?!" and then quickly see 2 white lights directly in front of me.

A car was driving the wrong way in my lane directly towards me!!!  I quickly turn right and go onto the shoulder as well to dodge this car.

The oncoming car was only going about 5 mph but it was moving.

I quickly make the next right turn available and stop and call 911 to report this car. 
I give the operator the car color, tell them it's a small car, and tell them that I noticed it was a single African American woman driving.

While I'm calling 911 I'm still watching the car and she stops in the road, still facing the wrong way.

She stays there for about a minute and then does a K turn on this BUSY 2 lane road  , directly in front of a Harris Teeter. 

I tell the operator which direction she's headed.

The operator says that she just put out a police notice for the area about my call.

Thank God we live in a country like America where I can get such quick help from the popo regarding dangerous things like this.

In hindsight, I should have followed the crazy car to directly tell the popo where to find her, but alas, I went and bought some food from Harris Teeter, instead.

Oh well, hopefully she's caught and arrested.


That's my first 911 call story.

I, however, never called 911.
Except as a kid, but that was for no reason. And I immediately ran away from the phone when someone said something lmao

-I've called 911 after I got robbed, followed the guy until the cops caught up with us :lol:  :thumbup:

his ass is currently in jail and I love going to the website and looking at his stupid face in his stupid mugshot with his release date beneath it (a while from now)
Since he made threats to me with the police in earshot and he's on parole, he can't even come to this county once he gets out without going back to jail.



-Had 911 called for me twice during OD's :sad:
One time I was paralyzed the other one I Was unresponsive and undetectable pulse, lips turning blue. :thumbdown:

-Called 911 to report more than a handful of obviously drunk drivers.

I've called 911 to report gun shots near my apt and to report the plate number of a hit and run driver.  911 can be good sometimes.

i called it this one time when i got out of the store and didnt see my car, it was my first time as well. i called and told them my car got stolen, then as i was on the phone i remembered i brought a different car. i paused and said "oh wait..", but i was too embarassed to admit the truth, then the operators says in mundane tone, "you found it didn't you?". but cat got my tongue and all i could say was "uh..nvm something came up" *click*. it was funny too because beforehand i had gone back in the store and asked the manager to see the surveillance tapes, so there were a few employees there who knew what was going on. i got out of there as fast as i could with my head down. the car was like right in front of me too. :blush:

The last time I called 9/11 some drunks crashed into the ditch down the road from me. I wasnt gonna call at first but then their car lit up and one of the stupid fucks kept trying to crawl back into it, as its literally getting engulfed in flames. Gah, some people :nonono:

I had no intentions of prank calling, I just wanted to see what would happen. I freaked out when someone said something on the other line and threw the phone away without hanging up and ran away. :lolsy:

Damn, thats some crazy ness, OP.

I've had almost the same exact thing happen to me, I was driving down the highway doing 65 and this fucking car is going 10 maybe 20 in the wrong damn lane on a 6 lane highway...

I had to switch lanes cause the old lady behind the wheel was in my lane.

Probably some old senile lady off her meds... I didn't call the police, though, come to think of it I have never in my life called them and there has been some times I probably should have.

If they weren't so douchey about little innocent things, I would feel more obligated to call them when I should.

No, I know, but all cops enforce laws that are pretty lame so deep down they all exhibit some douche-ness.

I've been helped by them before when I got jumped... and of course, they stop violence and stuffs but they still won't hesitate to send you to jail for smoking a joint... so :shrug: thats why I never think to call them when real shit goes down.

I'm driving in Detroit on the way to a dispensary, and as we're stopped at a light, the passengers in my car notice that this kid, maybe 8 or 9 years old, is driving the car next to us. The light turns green, and the kid pulls ahead, hits the car in front of him and rips off their bumper; and then he swerves to the left and hits another car, and rips off his own bumper. We got the plate and called 911

Didn't have to but the other day a lady swurved across the road over my side and into the ditch, it was crazy! She was okay, we both mader! :smile:, bout the cops I never really called em except for in the phone booth and climbed in a tree, but glad you did, sometimes you just gotta and when the feelins right its damn old right hahahaha

I called them on my uncle once. He's always had it out for me and absolutely hates me. One night he got way more drunk than usual, and pissed off at me. He was threatening to kill me, and he's crazy enough to actually do it. He once put a 12 inch buck knife through his heart in the middle of a drunken argument with his then girlfriend.


Anyways, I could see it in his eyes and face and the way he was walking towards me things were about to get really bad. He's a lot bigger than I am and has spent literally like half his grown life in prison. I looked around for something to grab to stand my ground with. I had no qualms whatsoever about bashing him in the head with a hammer, but there wasn't anything. Everything within reach was guaranteed to break while doing little damage.. Probably would just piss him off more.

So I took off running and we played ring around the rosey around my grandma's late 80's Lincoln Town Car. I may not be big, but I am extremely fast when I need to be. The giant car also gave me more room for error. This went on for like 5 minutes and he was seriously getting more pissed off by the second. I was on the phone with 911 the WHOLE time while this is going on screaming my uncle is trying to kill me and to hurry up and get someone here.

He eventually left me an opening big enough that I could duck in the back door and slammed it shut, that held him up a few seconds, long enough for me to grab my bike on the way out the front door, and I took off.. Never rode my bike that fast before.

I'm not much of a fighter, I avoid it where I can, but I'm also not afraid to stand my ground if need be.. With a few exceptions and my uncle is one of them. Even with a weapon I doubt I'm much of a match for, and he's a hell of a lot bigger than I am. Not to mention I honestly believe he's capable of following through with his threats.
