Re: Whats your choice of psychedelia? [Re: Icelander]

Used to do tons of salvia, definitely one of my favorites on hindsight.

Overall would say real LSD has to be my favorite, but I haven't done much mushrooms (only maybe a dozen times versus who knows how much Lucy).

Have to agree about salvia being the most insightful drug I've tried, I have a theory that death is one long salvia trip

LSD with ketamine

These two substances have such incredible synergy for me.  How would you take them?  I've only consumed them together a small handful of time, and always would insufflate a reasonably large dose of Ketamine (say 200mg) at the peak of a moderate acid trip (200ug or so).

On my last trip I vividly remember my room filling up with water, full of brilliantly red and gold leaves, and my bed was a raft.  My friend became this Chinese sage old man sitting on a lotus flower (which in reality was a green leaf patterned love seat).  We were listening to Future Sounds of London - ISDN and the track, Gainer, started skipping.  Such an existential nightmare - getting to my sound system on the other side of the room was like being a three year old on roller skates crossing the Mojave desert   I'm not sure this combo had much of a long term positive effect on me, but it was such an incredible escape and was worth it for that alone.

Mushies for me, but that might be because I live out in the country. Perhaps if I lived in a more orderly environment I might go for the LSD.

Sometimes I believe it, nothing else makes me feel as disembodied as salvia

I preferred LSD when I lived out in an old farmhouse out in the country   If you're not influenced by cultural beliefs as to LSD being synthetic, unnatural, and therefore bad, I think it just comes down to everyone having their own neurotransmitters.  LSD is more liberating for me thus far.

 It challenges me more than any other psychedelic I've used and imo gets me much deeper into my personal rabbit hole.  It's very scary and also very compelling.

Salvia was the first psychedelic I ever tried (excluding weed). I literally forgot that I had ever been human and instead perceived myself to be a sentient, multicolored brick existing simultaneously in 2D and 3D. I was part of a flag of other brick-creatures. It was like my neighborhood. Just this flag floating in a void of psychedelic colors. The trip lasted no more than a minute but it felt like years.

I can say I've had some crazy trips, but have never gone as deep into the proverbial "rabbit hole" as I did that night. And I'm kind of scared to do salvia again.

I hear ya. Your experience isn't uncommon.  I've been to the strangest places on salvia and often did not know what I was.  The strangest place felt so spooky I don't even know how to describe it. It was images and feeling states without language. The images made me feel like a very lost child with no guide but I could feel the meaning but could not think about it. It felt like some very core of of my being,  around my dysfunctional childhood and all around the images were snakes in DNA coils whipping back and forth, winding and unwinding furiously.  I could barely keep from freaking out. Yet I was fascinated and wanted to look directly at it and understand.

Lighter experiences were finding myself in full on Gingerbread land with white picket fences, autos, streets and people all made from gingerbread and in cartoon color.

Cute, but that isn't going to happen on Salvia. The drug really only lasts a few minutes... I have witnessed a few people who were spooked by it, and they would stand up incoherent and I'd gently direct them back to sitting as to not fall down a flight of steps or what have you.

They were pretty decent and only beat me with nightsticks for about five minutes before leaving me in a ditch.  I thought it was part of the trip.

Nah I don't think LSD is bad, I just felt that, for me, some psychs are better in certain settings. For example, I prefer taking mushrooms when I'm with women and mescaline when I'm with men. LSD is just as good in either case. I don't know why this is, although I've heard a few speculations.

I was on day 3 of a meth binge (no sleep) at a music festival, took a few tabs of nice LSD, and I then I did a 200+mg line of ketamine in the woods with a bunch of hippies that sold drugs who I just met. It was the most realistic and insane visuals I've ever experienced, literally believed I was in fact in another dimension traveling through different levels and I had no idea I had taken any drugs until over halfway through it.

Mixing LSD/shrooms/DMT has also given me some crazy fuckin visuals.

I need to try salvia.

Buy three lbs of poppy seeds, put in a gallon jug. Cover with lemon juice (one inch over the seeds) .  Shake like hell for ten minutes.  Drink the yucky tasting stuff minus the seed.  You'll thank me. :whoa:

I've noticed a more yin quality to mushrooms and a more yang quality to LSD, though I'm not sure that translates to me preferring the company of women on mushrooms.  Some psychedelics are better suited for certain settings though, without a doubt.  I pretty much always prefer a solo environment for ayahuasca, be it in home or nature, and pretty much a home setting for a full dose of Ketamine (just not into the idea of being glued to the floor somewhere I don't belong).

I have, wasn't particularly impressed with it orally (particularly the alleged "foxy" aspect ), but vaping it was incredible - which is quite odd, because at least at the time (in the 90s) there weren't  (and maybe still aren't?) any reports of vaping it.  It was much like DMT, without the visionary component when vaped -- same instant lift off and a smorgasbord of trailing colors, just no complex holographic, geometric Indra's Net type visions like I'm accustomed to with DMT.  I think what might have been most incredible is that I didn't expect much of anything to happen
