Death is never the end, just a new beginning. You will die, and your body will go back to the earth. Your body will nourish new life, and life will repeat itself through all of time. Life repeats itself for all eternity, unfathomable to the human mind.

Assuming what we know about chemistry and physics to be true... anyways.

Keep telling yourself that, there is nothing after and if you like the comfort and 'feel-good' of being delusional about it then so be it.

I really think he is trolling, if you've checked out all his threads shit, he seems like he is just doing this to get a rise out of people.

I'm just playing along

Yeah, keep telling yourself that it's 'trolling'.

It's called having an opinion that is allowed to be announced on an discussion forum so we can discuss it, it's simple.

Everyone has the right to express their thoughts on this forum and you are not allowed in any way to think otherwise, if people want to hate self-improvement then so be it, if people like self-improvement then so be it, but be ready to discuss and protect your views.

This is a discussion forum where things are discussed,

I never said there was anything after death for us... I said life simply recycles itself.

You have reading comprehension issues.

You definitely have a big ego for someone who is nothing.

Can you restate your question right quick, I'll attempt to answer it.

I read up to the point when you said that reading self help books is selfish.

How is self-improvement not selfish?

You want to better yourself, You want to feel complete, You want to feel more intelligent, You want the answers to the unknown, You want to be more knowledgeable, YOU want and only You want.

This.
First of all, I believe purely selfless actions are rare.
I think that if you make yourself a better person and therefore a better addition to society, it helps society as a whole.
Being selfish is lacking consideration of others, reading a self help book doesn't hurt anyone.

Why do you feel the need to better yourself for society?

Why do you need approval and validation from society/people?

Iamnothing is a fun new addition to the pub. He makes everyone remember those cringey, pseudointellectual years right after puberty when we all had some deep, edgy "ideas" about things.

Because I feel it would be a "good" thing for me to do.

What you just said has nothing to do with your prior statement though.
Reading self help books, by definition, is not selfish.

Why do I need approval and validation?
I don't, I want it.

The more approval you have from people, the more power you have over your life(if they are an authority) and their emotions.
I'm kind of an egomaniac though.

Hey guys, don't worry, when he gets in a car accident or something bad happens to him, he doesn't expect a doctor who selfishly read all those books to save him. He just wants to roll over and die.

After all, there is no reason to help someone who doesn't want to help others. Right? :smirk:

I will now use a quote from Fight Club:

Everything about self-help books and the industry is bullshit, it's the never ending cycle of never feeling complete and perfect.

The self-help industry loves people like you, the self-help industry is BULLSHIT.

Real life experiences > Any self-help books, Period.

That is an obvious logic fallacy... as self help books come from real life experiences a lot of the time.

What is your point?
