Sure people can steal knowledge from a book after memorizing it in their brain, but what is the point?

It's not your thoughts, it's not your life experiences, it's not your opinions, it's not you and has absolutely nothing to do with you.

You are memorizing a different persons philosophy and not your own, it's false knowledge and intelligence, i wouldn't even call it intelligence, just a good memory. :undecided:

becoming inspired, or motivated, or uplifted(, etc) is different from "memorizing information".

That is a logical fallacy sir.

We all learn through our life experiences. You either learn the easy way or the hard way. The easy way is almost always presented first.

If you can learn from other peoples mistakes and experiences then all the better.

"Stealing" knowledge? Knowledge is free reign, for everyone.

It sure is, but it's incredibly selfish and self-serving and it's just to feed our egos.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with reading books but it's the people that are reading them to feed their egos and read them just to feel good and feel complete and intelligent, the book is just an opinion and every single person has an opinion.

some opinions are inspiring, or point into new directions we werent aware of, etc etc etc

You have "No" in your name, title and signature. Why is that?

I think self help books are awesome. I love learning about the exerpiences that worked for others. Even though we all have diff experiences, humans are very similar and can learn oodles from one another. If it werent for studying psychology and self help books i might still be struggling with ocd and anxiety

Sure they might be 'awesome' but it's so false comfort and false hope, it all comes down to fear.

Self-improvement is not the answer to anything.

Actually, its the answer to just about everything. It just sounds like you are denying life.

I mean with that attitude, you might as well just be dead, you are denying everything about life.

What is the point of even living if you're gonna be a pessimistic self loathing person?

Just because you think life is pointless, doesn't mean it is, nor others do.

Tell me, how does self-improvement do anything at all? it's a self serving waste of time and it's incredibly shallow and egotistic.

There is no meaning to life, you are here right now so just enjoy it.

You obviously don't understand English

"IMPROVE" is synonymous with "MAKING THINGS BETTER"

If you want to life a shitty life, go ahead.

Life is full of meaning, you're just ignoring it and act like nothing matters.

It isn't just one thing. Its many things and more importantly its everything.

Life can be as meager or as important as anyone chooses it to be. You've chosen to be a self loathing pessimistic guy with no friends. Its no wonder you hold no values and loathe the ideals that peoples lives actually have meaning, whether its actually important or not.

You didn't answer the question.

What is the meaning of life? there is none.

Yeah, I answered. You just ignored my answer that the meaning is life itself, and that from there it could be anything. You just didn't like my answer, so you say I didn't answer.

Just because you hold the view its pointless doesn't make it true. :smirk:

You are holding on to false hope and delusions, life is meaningless and pointless and that's one of the reasons why we should enjoy it until the ride stops.

Nah. You're the one who is delusional. (See how this works?)

Life is full of meaning, that is why we enjoy the ride and then we die to repeat the never ending cycle. :smirk:

I find the books that motivate the most are books that aren't intended to do so

Death is never the end, just a new beginning. You will die, and your body will go back to the earth. Your body will nourish new life, and life will repeat itself through all of time. The earth will be destroyed, and from there all the particles will be recycled through time and a new planet will be born again, hosting life all over again.

Life repeats itself for all eternity, unfathomable to the human mind.

Assuming what we know about chemistry and physics to be true... anyways.

I really think he is trolling, if you've checked out all his threads shit, he seems like he is just doing this to get a rise out of people.

I'm just playing along
