I was raised as a christian and was totally entrapped in it for 20 years.

Church 3 times a week.

Memorized over 300 bible verses.

Church camp every summer.

Read the bible about 10 times front to back.



It took me a long time to be comfortable with saying it is total bullshit. I have seen the light!!! I'm 31 as of next week. Been 8 years without Christianity and I gotta say I feel much better.


That's cool man, I can respect anyone's beliefs if they respect mine, Im only 25, but have studied with Jehovah's witnesses, non-denomenational, a small bit of Islam, and Catholicism. I questioned alot, and still believe. I dont think following blindly is a fair term. I found my religion on my own at around the age of 17, that sucks it was crammed down your throat in a sense.

I feel you, OP.

Because I draw my beliefs from several different religions and philosophies, I don't really identify myself as a follower of any one.

I try not to lust after material things, as buddhists believe one should not.

I think the ten commandments are good guidelines to live by, but could be bent at times.

I believe that nature should be worshiped as in wicca or paganism.

Sure,  the aromas of coffee and old people mixing in the air on sunday morning bring about that lovely sense of belonging, but I'm not about to sit through three hours of some guy lecture me for that warm, fuzzy feeling.

For that wonderful warm and fuzzy feeling I walk through the woods barefoot and smoke a bowl. I stop at a good place with a veiw and play my flute while taking in the scenery.

Zones me into that place you feel like everything is alllll riiiiiighht. I hike back recharged and full of awesome.

My friends say I'm such a hippy sometimes. lol
