Need assistanz wit I-Deez pleez
    #18280650 -

I have 3 requests for yall tonight. I just a needy SOB aint I? All specimens located in woods of central NC, USA. I apologize in advance for the cell cam quality. Wife had digital at nieces graduation, earlier this evening.
Request #1
Habitat:
Growing out from under rotten limb on forest floor of old leaves. Not sure what kind of tree, limb belonged to.

Gills:
Rust brown in color, turning black with age. They have a medium crowding and attached to stipe.

Stem:
3 to 4 inches in length, .5 to .75 inches wide and white in color.
It altered in color when pinched but not certain if it would be considered "bruising".

Cap:
3.5 to 4 inches across. Splotchy light to dark brown in color. (Mottled?)

Spore print color:
The wife says brown. Looks more like black to me. But she is probably correct.

Ok. Request #2
I'm not expecting a positive ID on this one at all. I had no desire to bring any of this train wreck home. I did, however, conduct some VERY scientific Experiments by means of "pokin' it wit a stik" method.
Analysis confirms a gooey mess.

And finally,
Request #3
What is the best mushroom identification website? ( besides this one of course) Don't take me wrong, I greatly appreciate the help shroomery offers, but I want to be able to identify my own finds once in awhile. Rogers and mycokeys are not panning out to well for me so far. Of course, that could be my own fault.

#1 looks like Agaricus species. #2 looks like an exploded rotting cabbage. #3, quality mycology books will be much more comprehensive than any website.

#1 is cool... I guess it could be Agaricus, but it's unlike any Agaricus I've ever seen, so I'm interested :jah:

This is likely your first mushroom, and also a good website...

Lol, at a certain time of year they are EVERYWHERE here... My grandma found out I was into mushroom hunting, so she got a big box and started collecting them wherever she went... She brought me like a 20 box FULL of C. molybdites... I've seen some huge ones but they get annoying, lol...

I don't understand how you would come up with the assumption that this would be my first mushroom. Granted I am new to the world of Mycology, this is no where near my first find. I am just having difficulties trying to identify them myself. Being colorblind is by no means helping my situation. I have been to the site you suggested but have not quite spent enough time there to figure it out yet,

You lost me here. What exactly was the final verdict? Agaricus or no?

Check the link, it's a Psathyrella sp.

And I think Bob meant that it was the first mushroom in your post, like #1 lol...
