Headache in the back of head..
    #17937957 -

So for the past... 5 or 6 days? I've had an awful headache in the back of my head. I've never had one in the back before, and it's lasting for DAYS.
I try taking 400mg of Ibuprophen and it doesn't help at all. It doesn't even touch it. I thought I might have been missing some nutrients, but I'm not. I get tons of fruit/veggies/protein.

I tried having some caffeine (2 cups of coffee) and now I'm downing water, but it won't go away.

My neck feels kind of sore too. (This just started.) I don't have any injuries, no sinus infection, my throat feels fine.

I can't really afford to see a doctor right now, but I'm thinking I might not have a choice?

I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light before I decide to see a doc?

Whats up man.

Im 95% sure you are having a tension headache. I use to have them until I started making a conscious effort to be away of my stresses and work on them.  Built up anxiety and tension can cause you to have one that lasts for weeks. If you can get you hand on a muscle relaxer see if that helps.  If it doesn't then come back to me.  I have had to deal with chronic headaches for a long time.

Also try doing a test to check the mobility of your neck.

Can you touch your chin to your chest?
Now try to your left shoulder and your right shoulder.
If you feel any resistance doing this in your neck muscles and tendons you can be pretty confident in the fact its built up tension.  You can work on stretching your neck throughout the day until it dies down or I guarantee a  muscle relaxer twice a day will make you feel magical

Yeah my neck is actually really really sore. Especially when I touch my chin to my chest. That's the worst.

Hmm, I would go to the doctor.
Sounds like possible meningitis based on your prolonged headache which is bad bad bad.

Can you touch your chin to your chest all the way?

Saw my doctor today. Apparently there is some inflamation, he squeezed the back of my head in this awful spot, and I almost cried, and down my neck. I said I felt Dizzy, and he suggested it was from stress. He was going to prescribe flexeral, but noticed I was prescribed Valium recently. (Valium is now PRN) So he said to take 5mg a few times a day, as it will do the same thing, if I don't notice a change I need to call him in 2 weeks, if it gets worse, I need an MRI.

I hope it's just stress, and it gets better.

Hows your posture when you work? Do you spend a lot of time with a laptop?

I've cut down my laptop/screen use a lot the past few months. My posture is amazing too. My family is notorious for their back issues, so I try to prevent all that. I sit upright all the time, I lift properly, et cetera.

Thanks man, me too. I don't want to go back and need an MRI. I had one once and they used this dye shit... it made my whole body cold and numb. Fuck that!
