Persistant headache

Starting about four days ago I would get a headache at the base of my skull late at night. Over the course of the night it spread to the temples. The day before yesterday was the first day that I actually woke up with the same headache. I had it all day long and the next day and I've woken up with it again today. Ibuprofen and tylenol don't do anything, except numb, but the stiffness is still there. I'm thinking about taking a PM pain reliever tonight so I get a better nights sleep.

just so you know, it doesn't mean you'll die or anything, just that you have super-severe headaches. i get the same exact kind. (i actually get both migraines or cluster headaches, whatever wants to kill me that day) i talked to my neurologist about these 5 day hellhole headaches and he said migraines are known to be that way. tylenol won't do shit for me for anything, ever, but maybe this might help you?: my doctor said to take a tylenol, 5 aleve and a flat coke. the coke is supossed to be flat cause if carbonated will be more likely to dehydate you (making the headache worse) - its just for the caffiene.
if that doesnt help, and you keep getting them, get something prescribed. my mom is permanently on these strong ass bubalbital /acetominophen/ caffiene pills that knock that shit right out, but addiction scares the hell out of me, so it just compounded into one of the many reasons i got medical marijuana

sound healthy, if you're in the grocery store with open air veggies, you might try grazing
posture may have significant impact on this issue
swollen lymphnodes in neck or under throat? if i were you id probably find a full length bath tub and massage myself , testicles prostate, abdomen, feet, ears face gently some breathing excercises and head stands
also id go to the doc and get some hydrocodone and make sure i told em im allergic to acetaminophen ; )
stay well ~[o80]{

The head ache started Sunday night. Late at night I developed stiffness and pain at C-1 vertebrae. I was unable to sleep it off so I stayed up a bit and it turned bilateral. The next day I woke up fine, but the same symptoms developed late at night, around 10PM, it began at C1 and then turned bilateral. Tuesday I woke up with the neck pain, and the headache stuck with me all day. Wednesday the same and today it was much more painful.

It sounds kind of like a headache I sometimes get, which is caused by tense trigger points in my neck and back. Do you have specific spots that flare up the worst and a duller ache in between them? Either way I recommend a doctor, and if it is a trigger point thing, a massage therapist. Don't just pound the painkillers, you gotta work out the cause! Yoga is great for trigger point related pain.

Can you touch your chin to your chest? If you can't, go see a doctor because it could be meningitis.
But what the fuck do I know? It's probably just a headache.

Sounds like a back problem. You should go to a physical therapist.

> Sounds like ...
... you should see a doctor. It could be anything from stress to a tumor. Whatever it is, it started fairly suddenly and is persisting.

Part of it might be the nicotine withdrawal. Sounds a bit like a bad tension headache too. Maybe get someone to give you a massage or massage your own neck and shoulders in the bath. + temples and forehead - always feels better when you have a headache to massage those.
