Just last week, my two slowest colonizeing jars were hit with the same black mold. Throw em out in the yard somewhere. Better safe then sorry....or very sick.

i recintly had a outbreak of black pin mold be carefull thats bad stuff i lost 56 lbs of colinized rye grain

thanx guys, anyone else got any info on this black stuff. what kind of mold is it? what causes it? Is it because my jars are so slow to colonize? I'ts in patches in a few jars only. should I throw the whole dozen out if only a few are affected?
