Inducing Hypomania without drugs
    #17592292 -

If you normally get hypomanic sometimes and sorta manic but just a little at other times, is there any way to induce hypomania when you want it. It would be pretty awesome to be able to choose when to be hypomanic.

Not really, although a quadruple espresso or a couple red bulls is a good quick, legal start.  Mostly your brain has to be primed and then it doesn't take much to trigger it off, you're not going to be able to induce mania from a depression without something heavy.  One of the reasons I loved cocaine so much when I was younger was that I never really had a crash from it.  I could do it over a weekend session and that would send me off into a manic episode that would last several days, so even once the high wore off, my brain kept speeding.  Inertia has everything to do with it.

Some of the nootropics, like piracetam and aniracetam as well as energy boosters like ginseng are good supplements to boost cognition and energy levels, and they do it in a much cleaner, healthier way, kind of like mania without the negative aspects, just quick minded alertness.

aside from that i found another way to do it without drugs.

it's a matter of controlling your blood oxygen content and the release of inapropiate adrenaline.

basically entering  RAGE mode while not in any sort of danger or anger.

it's not really something that i can write a tek for:shrug:

Lol, I am too, but I disagree, you can't shoot an unloaded gun: there needs to be the underlying manic potential in your brain for a trigger to work.  If you could meditate yourself into mania at any time, bi-polars would have no problems with depression, because they could just think their way out of it.

You may run more to the manic side of things naturally, but eventually every brain gets depleted of whatever chemicals makes it manic and then a crash follows.  It takes a serious, chemical reset to bump the mind straight out of a deep depression (supposedly ketamine does this quite well).  As far as getting manic from baseline, yeah, slight stimulants, or external agitation can set it off easily.  Maybe you can induce a berserker response with sheer will power, but that seems like it just means that your brain was already primed and ready.  My depressions are not so easy to shake off.

Whenever I take almost any kind of upper, I will speed for a few days. I don't like uppers for this reason. Never heard of this happening to anyone else lol
