I don't think I could love anyone who subscribed to any religion fundamentally. It's one thing if they're a theist or strongly leaning towards belief in a creator, but I'm very secular and my family is very secular and there is not an organized church in the world that will ever be apart of my life.

I'm a bio-nerd. I don't know if I could deal with someone who didn't believe in evolution - I've only ever known one person who believed that dinosaurs weren't real. She was from a really conservative Christian family and maintained that all the physical evidence and the entire field of palaeontology was fake, she was also a 15 year old classmate at the time so hopefully she's upgraded her views to align with The Museum of Creation and started thinking that dinosaurs were real but they walked the earth when it was created along with man 5,000 years ago :facepalm:. At least then she'd acknowledge that they existed.....


I like to think that I can be as openminded about another person's beliefs as long as they are equally openminded about my own - politics would be no problem, but if I'm being totally honest, I could never be in a serious relationship with someone who was religious. Friends are one thing, SO is a whole different ballgame.

It doesn't help that every guy I've met who has been remotely religious is either not someone I'm in any way attracted to or is incredibly misogynistic and lives a blatantly hypocritical lifestyle(but goes to church, so it's kewl.)

If I felt like I really really connected with a religious person and was in love with them, it wouldn't be a dealbreaker alone - but unless we reached some sort of compromise and both of our thinking evolved to accommodate the others lifestyle it would probably cause problems down the road.

Fact, this commandment has been around since the old testament. It's nothing new.
