acid trip compared to mushroom trip

I was wondering if anyone can try to describe the difference of how an acid trip feels compared to a mushroom trip. Someone described it as being more grid-like but i have no clue what that is supposed to mean.

To me mushrooms feel like soil and acid feels like candy.  If that makes any sense to you :smile:

Sort of, I'd like to hear more peoples descriptions of the differences between the two. Living in the UK I have never had the opportunity to try LSD. :frown:

Acid gives you a clear trip, where mushrooms give you a warped trip. Its easy to understand what your thinking on acid and with mushrooms your thoughts just kinda wander and its hard to understand. You can learn more on acid than on mushrooms but both are great tools for understanding.

Acid is a really energetic trip. It feels like there's a powerplant inside your body. I don't get body highs while tripping on LSD, it's all just inside my brain.. which is why you gotta have pot.

I totally disagree on this.

Personally,i believe that acid is for the younger crowd and the mushrooms are for the people that want to learn something from their trips. Anyway,that's just me.

LSD trip: very speedy,you can feel the energy going through your veins, good visuals,long time trip

Mushrooms trip: You know how it is:-) I also believe that the visuals form this trip are muuuuch better and complicated than the lsd trip!

I take LSD only when i just wanna pass the time happy.
But when i take shrooms i do it not only to pass the time happy but to learn things from the trip.

Hello,

Yeah i have tripped on both drugs many times and this is what i think;

LSD is rougher on the body, it is more chemical than natural, and LSD gives me what i call boomerranging, or for a couple days after tripping i get a case of the grumpies..

Mushrooms are completely natural, and smooth on my body and mind, no boomerranging, and the day after mushroom tripping makes me sleepy, so the day after is always reserved for relaxing.

LSD is the funnest damn drug on the planet..for me, but that boomerrang can sometimes throw me into a tizzy.  LSD lasts so long, it is more of an escape for me than a trip; =frankly, it is just too much fun for my delicate psyche to handle  :shake: :lol: :loveeyes:

Acid is more stimulating to me. I seem to be more clear headed on acid in contrast to shrooms where there is more "mindfuck" and just a general sense of "cloudy strangness".Mushrooms seem to be more visual in the sense of quantity of hallucinations,but acid visuals seem more complex. My body seems "heavier" on shrooms,while on acid it's more "electric".The day after an acid trip I feel physically drained,while on shrooms I feel completely normal.

If I had to pick which one I like better,it would be acid,but they both have their respective strenghts.

I have never taken LSD, but someone once used this analogy to the same question (back in my lurking days)

acid is like having every particle of your body blown across the universe.

shrooms is like sitting in a cave for 1000 years.


when I tripped on shrooms i saw every thing as having alot more color, and all of the colors i saw, real or imagined were very vibrant, not "earthy" at all, which is how most people describe a mushroom trip...

then again, those were only the halucinations, the way I felt was actually like a mixture between an animal and a plant, so they might have something there...

LSD to me makes me feel very chemically and a really wierd energy i get... with mushrooms i feel like my brains transmitters have running water going thro them its just very smooth and natural....

Since I tripped on acid for the fisrt time a couple of days ago, I would tell you the trips are totally different.

In my opinion acid is more gentle to your head, but harsh to the body, omg, the last 2 hours of the trip were kinda annoying, muscle tension, jaw discomfort, etc. But beside that the rest is worth it. You know the deal, walls melting, the wood dancing, the music felling so good, tracers, etc. You dont question yourself too much. U can think in reality and behave in front of people.

Now the midfuck in shrooms is heavier, even at low doses, confusion sometimes, revelations. It is like you feel to much. something like this:

Me (fried) : look at that tree, it looks really sad, like it is dying.
Friend (not fried): It is not dying smartass, it is a crying willow (??)
Me: OH now i Know. Lets hug it.
Friend: Shut up, we are not going into the yard.
Me: It looks so sad! i wanna hug it.!!!! (I started crying)
.... i went to the tree and hug it.
Friend: Are u happy now?.
Me: U want a hug?
Friend: F U

Do you see what I mean, I cant be around people on shrooms, but with acid is not the same discomfort. That is on low doses.

I dont know about higher doses, but last time i tripped on shrooms, i was not expecting to be pulled out of reality, and dance in millions color, being one with universe, and feel the real being that we are, and that this life is just a step on our journey. I felt god, I felt the cosmos, I was not me, i was part of a "everything". and more things that I just cant understand, or I dont want to remember.

anyway Acid is fun.

acid is like putting a sharpening filter over your brain... its very energetic.. but i dont really like it for night tripping. its like someone pulling the trigger to a psychedelic shotgun with the gun point blank at your head. what scared me though with acid was i felt like i was the most important, most powerful person in the world when i was coming up, mushrooms made me feel very humble to the earth instead of being more powerful than the earth. i prefer tripping in the daytime with acid and at night with mushrooms. acid lasts too long to dose after dark for me anyways.

the best way to tell is to experience them both!

I tend to get more visuals on mushrooms, but maybe that's just because all the acid I've done was weak.

acid has this edge to it.  a real strong chemical feeling.  the edge can be really fun but it is also real hard on the body and after the first 8 hrs you tend to start feeling strung out. 

mushrooms are more warm and fuzzy. theyre actually fun to come down from, and easy to get to sleep after.

I'd say its a total draw on which I like best.  depends on what day of the week it is :smile:

They are totally totally different for me

Acid has a real fast paced energetic trip for me. The trip feels much more electric for me. My thouhts start replicating and pattering themselves to infinity. The thoughts keep coming at me and i get real lost in them. It's like falling into the matrix or something. I also feel much happier on acid than shrooms. It does a good job of unraveling my subconscious in front of me. Music sounds way cooler on acid too. It sounds electric and my mind can visualize it. Acid makes me feel like i've been projected onto everything around me and i've become part of eveything.
Shrooms feel cloudier for me (as somebody else has already sated). The body buzz is much more noticable than acid. Things get real wavy and start to melt around a lot. Shrooms make me feel like I've remembered all the secrets of what God is and then i forget it once it wears off. For me it's harder to control my thoughts too. Shrooms make me feel like everything around me has become part of me. I get an amazing connection with plants and other animals when im shrooming, i can feel their consciousnss.
Personally...i feel like i always learn a lot more from acid than shrooms. i'm not quite sure why...i've taken high doses of both. All my brilliant revelations seem quite ridiculous once the shrooms wear off, where as my acid revelations from years ago are still with me to this day.

Yes. I see absolutely no difference in their phenomenological effects. LSD happens to last about twice as long.
