Well to kick this post off Refer back to this POST  of mine and look at the pins. These were noticed the 19th. Now lets go 7 days into the future(see below for pic). Aborted correct? I think 2 of them have a chance one of them has a red cap, the other 2 that were the first to pop up are very dark almost blackish purple. I also had another pin pop up 3 days ago above the first 2 that pinned its still very small but has red on the tip so it may have some hope. I'm bout to trash these cakes and say fuck this shit. I beleive the reason for them not fruiting may be the simples minds tek I used and it did not have enough BRF in it, I have dunked one cake and it didnt do shit to it cuz its been a good 2 weeks. I birthed these a month ago and no progress except one cake. None had contams or anything. Well I did 11 jars of creeper, and 12 of Eq today and I figured I'd give this one more shot b4 i throw in my towel. So I figure Pic the aborts see if the others grow if they dont o well atleast I tried I'm just gonna keep these in this container until the other jars are ready to fruit, If they dont grow by then then in the trash they grow, or fuck I'll just for shits and giggles shred um up throw um in a pot outside with some jiffy mix of some shit on top and see what happens. I sure hope this works this time or I give up and have wasted a good 100 dollars. I must say tho thank you all for all your help, I really like doing this but with no results it gets frustrating.  :nonono:

fuck it i picked um off and downed um. They aint grown a bit in 5 days, the other 2 may have a chance.

Try casing. You may have better luck. The original syringe you obtained could just be a poor fruiting strain or isolate. Good luck with your other strains, give casing them a try.

And don't forget to mist  :wink:

don't do that. okay, so they aborted - it happens. don't give up because of a couple of false starts - you're almost there. you got myc, you got pins, you just gotta go that extra half yard, and you'll have mushrooms.

try to work out why they aborted - commonest reasons are temps and air exchange if i remember rightly. do a search using the words 'abort' or 'aborts' and no doubt you'll find out something new that may give you a clue as to what went wrong.

Poor nutrition can also cause aborts. So can direct misting with water combined with peroxide. Lack of moisture and humidity could also be the problem.

Listen to shirl. Best advice one can give you. Lay off the frustration, we all have our own little problems here and there. Its not always possible to jump into something and get 100% success immediately.

Well when I said im giving up im not gonna, but i just did like 24 jars, with spores from TLG so lets see what happens. If these dont fruit then I will be saying fuck it. These cakes I already have had done have been in the fruiting chamber for over a month they are poor at fruiting I guess cuz the spores and the mycelium colonizes like fucking crazy. I did all these new jars 2 days ago and I have no growth. If I used what I used b4 i had growth in 1 day. I'm just gonna hope for the best I doubt TLG is not gonna colonize for me, I did what I did for the first batch just diff spores. Hopefully I can be one of those people that post the product of their hard work and have huge fucking shrooms and lots of them too. What I plan on doing for these next cakes is I am going to dunk them b4 I birth them. and then roll them in dry verm and moisten um with a spray bottle of h2o2. I may case a couple of them for the hell of it and see what happens. So wish me luck I still got alot of waiting to do for them to start colonizing. The strains are creeper and EQ's from TLG. Lets see what happens.

you will. 2 days is too soon to worry about germination, and you know you can get to the white cakes pinning stage, so you're all set. get your camera ready, and we'll all look forward to some proud dad shots in early September.

24 jars is too many to do if your starting out cuz if you mess up like all newbies do then youve lost 24 jars and all that time and supplies. go small, learn how to do it correctly and efficiently, then go bigger. you should really look into casings, they will give you the best results with minimal effort. cakes will not give you the results i think you are looking for.

Well 24 jars is not too many, i did 12 b4 perfect with no contams , a fucking monkey could do it. And I will case a few for just to see what happens.

And by the way those 2 pins that aborted i ate them and they fucked me up. I am just now coming down. So these must be a potent ass strain even tho they dont wanna grow.

man, you're farther than i am. i can't even get my cake to pin. shit can get ya pretty down. but i just think, what would i be doing if i wasn't tryin to grow? then i figure i do those things and i find it helps with the whole patience/frustration thing.

also in 2 to 3 weeks my 4 new jars will be done and i'm gonna experiment with casings as well.
