Why grow when I can buy?

I'm new to all of this but want to try, especially after reading Huxley's Doors of Perception. But I don't think I'm into this enough to grow on my own. How safe is it to buy dried mushrooms? What should I look for? How should I go about it? Why is this stuff illegal... That one was facetious.

Just treat them as any other drug when buying them.  I knows it's hard to treat it badly :wink: but just ask around.  You should pay between $20-35 for an 1/8 of dried mushrooms.  Te best way is to grow your own, it's not that hard and eating your own mushrooms is cool.

There's a thrill and proudness of growing/hunting your own shrooms that buying them just can't beat. It also means you don't have to rely on someone else for your supply, because you're growing/hunting them yourselves and you know exactly what they are (if you take the time to ID them) and you control the quality when it comes to drying and storage. And, best of all when it comes to hunting - it's free.
And when you're growing them, you can be sure of what you're growing, and that they're grown with care.

Cultivating your own shrooms is the only way to guarantee the freshness, safety and quality of the trip. There are way too many shady dealers in the world, and will continue to be until drugs are legal, trying to scam addicts for quick cash. Also, if your source is simply a dealer, the chances of them knowing the specific species and strain are highly unlikely.

If you don't feel like growing your own, just realize the different chances you'll be taking when buying them.

Be smart, make informed decisions and enjoy!

I always buy becuase I cant seem to get anything right when growing and I cant find anything hunting but mby someday =D

Buy and you risk the chance of people messing around with it...such as lacing it with unknown substances.

Cultivation is WAY more serious when it comes to legal repercussions. No one intends to be caught, but is a point worth considering.

If I were going to do shrooms, I'd grow them myself. Buying isn't reliable, you can't always know what you're getting, and there's a much greater chance that the law might get involved ... not to mention, once you have a PC and the jars, it's cheaper to grow.
