Headache from Valerian Root

I recently returned from being overseas for many months. The timezone I was in is several hours ahead of where I am living now. I had horrific jetlag and so I began to take Valerian root to help me get to sleep. I know I probably should have just let my body naturally acclimate but the lack of sleep was making me feel terrible. Anyway, since I've begun taking the valerian root, I've noticed that around midday, I'll have a dull headache. Nothing terrible, just a slight pain which I've never had before. I also noticed the other day, while I was at the gym training, I felt very light headed and somewhat faint. I have never experienced this before and it really only started since I began taking the valerian root. I only picked up on this the other day so its only be 24 hour since I've stopped taking the supplement. I was curious though as to whether anyone else noticed this side effect from Valerian root. I checked out the side effects listed on a few random sites and headaches/dizziness were listed. Any input would be great, just trying to confirm if the headaches are from the Valerian root, thanks!
